For the past few years Iron Man has reigned supreme as Marvel’s resident cash cow. But at San Diego Comic Con 2014, Iron Man will have to step aside for Marvel’s new resident cash… raccoon! Not only will there be a Gentle Giant Rocket Raccoon Mini Bust and a Funko Flocked Rocket Raccoon POP! Vinyl as 2014 SDCC exclusives, but now an exclusive Rocket Raccoon plush toy, mug and Labbit have been announced as well!
Marvel head mugs have become a big deal (sort of) in the past year, and Marvel head mugs of everyone from Deadpool to Loki to Venom have been available for order.
With the Guardians of the Galaxy movie hitting theaters the week after Comic-Con International, it was only a matter of time until Rocket’s noggin appeared in beverage-containing form!
The exclusive Marvel Rocket Raccoon Drinking Mug will be for sale every day of San Diego Comic-Con 2014. There’s only 100 allocated per day of the event (for a total edition size of 500), so I think that there’s a real chance that this item sells out quickly at SDCC (even if $19.99 does seem a mite expensive for a plastic mug of a severed raccoon head).
Limited to 2000 produced (400 per day), this 10″ Rocket Raccoon plush is a steal for just $19.99! Even with the somewhat high edition size, I would be stunned if the SDCC Rocket Raccoon stuffed animal doesn’t sell out at the event. The plush Rocket Raccoon will also be at UCC Distributing Booth #700 (while he lasts).
Finally, KidRobot is planning to premiere their 7″ Marvel Labbit Rocket Raccoon at SDCC 2014, as well as putting it up for sale at the event! The Frank Kozik-designed Rocket Raccoon Labbit won’t be exclusive to San Diego Comic-Con 2014, but it will be available there first at KidRobot Booth #5051.
While Kid Robot won’t debut images of the Labbit Rocket Raccoon vinyl design until the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con begins, we’ve already seen the concept art for this Rocket Raccoon vinyl figure, so we know that it’s going to be an angry, hatred-powered Rocket Raccoon Labbit (and I wouldn’t have it any other way)!
As a longtime Rocket Raccoon fanboy, this is like the treasure trove of Rocket Raccoon merch I’ve always dreamed of! What about you, Marvel collectors? Are you excited for any or all of the new Rocket Raccoon exclusive items debuting at SDCC 2014?
