SDCC 2014 Marvel Flocked Rocket Raccoon POP! Vinyl Revealed!

It looks like it may turn out to be a pretty light year for Funko Marvel POP! Vinyl collectors as far as 2014 San Diego Comic-Con exclusives go! While last year we had a multitude of SDCC Marvel POP! Vinyl exclusives released by Funko (including Unmasked Iron Patriot & Iron Man, Metallic Red Hulk, Metallic Ghost Rider and Metallic Deadpool), this year it looks like we’ll be enjoying one and only one 2014 SDCC Marvel POP Vinyls exclusive. Luckily, it just so happens to be my very favorite Marvel character: the SDCC 2014 Flocked Rocket Raccoon POP! Vinyl has now been revealed!

SDCC 2014 Flocked Rocket Raccoon Funko POP Vinyl Exclusive FigureI could try to feign surprise and act like I was totally blindsided by Marvel’s reveal of a Funko Rocket Raccoon Flocked POP! Vinyl exclusive today, but that would be pretty transparent (especially since I called this particular exclusive with 100% certainty way back at the start of May 2014). But while I knew that Funko had a flocked Rocket Rocket vinyl bobble-head figure in the works, I wasn’t entirely sure that he was going to be optimally executed.

There was always a slight possibility that Funko could go nuts and have this POP! Vinyl Rocket Raccoon flocked all over (complete with a fuzzy costume), but thankfully Funko did Rocket justice and made this figure exactly the way it should be: with a fuzzy head, limbs and tail and a plain plastic costume and gun!

Flocked Rocket Raccoon Funko POP Vinyl San Diego Comic Con 2014 Exclusive Figure

Considering I already own a variant Funko Rocket Raccoon POP! Vinyls figure that literally has no differences from the regular release except for the “Hot Topic Exclusive Pre-Release” sticker, I am overjoyed that this fuzzy Rocket Raccoon Funko POP Vinyls figure will actually have a substantial difference from my other two versions.

As the sticker on the Flocked Rocket Raccoon San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusive figure’s box doesn’t state an exact edition number and instead just says “Limited Edition”, we can reasonably assume that this figure will have a hefty edition size of 1,000 or more pieces produced–which basically means that everyone who wants one should be able to get one without paying insane aftermarket prices. Fingers crossed.

I’ll post order links for the SDCC 2014 exclusive flocked Rocket Raccoon POP! Vinyl to the Marvel Toy News Facebook Page once I see online stores put him up for sale during San Diego Comic Con 2014, as usually a few retailers do sell the Funko convention exclusives for the same prices as at the show during the event. Keep your eyes peeled to our Facebook Page if you want this figure and won’t be in San Diego this month!

What do you think of the SDCC 2014 Exclusive Flocked Rocket Raccoon POP! Vinyl, Marvel collectors? Is this your Funko Rocket Raccoon of choice, or do you prefer the standard all-plastic Rocket to this adorable fuzzy version?
