REVIEW: X-Men Marvel Legends Outback Psylocke Figure (2026)

Hasbro has been treating Psylocke like a queen lately, with new Marvel Legends 6” figures of Lady Mandarin, Uncanny X-Men #275 Psylocke and GamerVerse Psylocke in just the last few years. And this month, they’ve started shipping out Outback Psylocke, a Marvel Legends iteration of Betsy Braddock I thought we’d never see! But while Outback X-Men Psylocke has long been a fan-requested variant, the final figure is not what I would have hoped for. Here’s my review…

2026 Marvel Legends Psylocke X-Men Outback Figure Review

Hasbro is slowly (and I mean slowly) but surely building the Outback X-Men roster in Marvel Legends form, and Psylocke is the latest character to be added to the team. (I wouldn’t expect an Outback Madelyne Pryor any time soon, but I really do hope we get shirtless Colossus sooner than later.)

I was very hyped when Hasbro first announced this action figure, but I quickly felt decidedly less so once I got her in-hand.

Marvel Legends Box Series Psylocke Figure PackagedPsylocke is part of the Box Build-A-Figure Series, but I’m not at all convinced that that will enhance the sales for this toy. The version of Box Hasbro picked for the BAF isn’t exactly an iconic or legendary one, and this is a rare instance where even I don’t care about completing the Build-A-Figure.

Back of Box Marvel Legends Psylocke Armored Action FigureI really like the classic comic book artwork style used on the back of the box. It looks really colorful and nice. The pinks and purples really pop.

Unboxing Marvel Legends Psylocke Box Series FigureThe colors on this action figure itself look magnificent as well. The lilac and purple and magenta plastics just synergize so well together and look like nothing else on the X-Men Legends shelf. The colors Hasbro used here are just beautiful!

Back of Cape on Hasbro 2026 Marvel Legends X-Men Psylocke Armor FigureUnfortunately, I think that aesthetic appeal is about all this figure has going for it. As soon as you free Betsy from her packaging prison, it’s immediately obvious that her cape is immensely heavy and will throw off her balance. The front of the cape is permanently affixed to her torso, so there’s no removing it without tearing the plastic.

Even if you could remove the cape, Psylocke’s hood is permanently attached to her head, so the hooded head would look ridiculous on the cape-free armored body. So we’re stuck with a Psylocke who can pose in bare minimum static poses only if you want her to be able to stand up without the cape toppling her over.

Butterfly Psychic Effects Piece on Marvel Legends 2026 Psylocke 6" FigureMaking matters worse, the “butterfly” psychic effect can only be attached in a very challenging way that doesn’t feel right at all. Hasbro evidently put little thought into the way the psychic effect would be attached here. I managed to jam it onto her, but it’s likely wonky and not positioned as intended.

Marvel Legends Outback X-Men Psylocke Legends Figure and AccessoriesAlong with the butterfly effect, we get a very welcome pair of gesturing hands and a Box BAF Leg. For 30 bucks, Diamond Select Toys would have given us an additional head or two and more effects, but with DST’s death we don’t get the excellent spreads of accessories that Marvel Select figures got anymore.

Psylocke X-Men Legends 2026 Action Figure Review Outback EraEven the articulation here doesn’t feel right to me. There are a lot of POA integrated, but having to compensate for the good and cape renders a lot of them moot.

REVIEW Hasbro Psylocke 2026 Box BAF Series Marvel Legends Psylocke FigureOutback Psylocke’s pin-free articulation scheme includes:
—Ball-Jointed Head, Upper Torso and Hips
—Ball-Hinge Shoulders
—Swivel Biceps and Thighs
—Double-Hinged Knees and Elbows
—Swivel Hinge Wrists
—Hinged Feet with Ankle Rockers

The plastic on the limbs feels really stiff, but the joints all moved for me with a careful amount of force.

Marvel Legends Armored Psylocke Hasbro 2026 Figure ReviewOverall: I’m really glad to get a an Outback era Psylocke to add to my X-Mrn display at all, but this Hasbro release is a real disappointment. The hood and cape are non-removable, the cape is so heavy that it makes it a battle to stand Betsy up in anything but the most vanilla poses and the butterfly psychic effect attaches in a truly wonky way.

The colors on the figure look tremendous, and she looks quite nice just standing around in static poses, but that’s not enough for me for a nearly $30 action figure. This is a notch below what I expect from Hasbro in 2026 at 2026 prices. Many collectors will be happy to just have an Outback X-Men Psylocke Legends figure at all, but be sure you know what you’re getting for your 30 bucks if you order this figure.
