“Walmart Collector Con” has somehow managed to become a regular thing now, with Walmart bringing out their big toy guns once or twice a year to coincide with major comic conventions going on. These are a bit hit or miss for Marvel Legends, but for their SDCC 2026-concurrent event, Walmart has got a good one: their exclusive Marvel Legends Classic Boomerang figure is now up for order!

Believe it or not, Hasbro already released a Boomerang Legends figure once before. No, really! A modern Boomerang figure in his “Superior Foes of Spider-Man” costume was released (and reviewed by me) in 2014, and was actually a pretty decent figure for its time.

But that time is past, and most fans these days only remember Boomerang for his wacky classic costume, so the timing was ideal to give fans a new Spider-Man Legends Boomerang updated to today’s standards. That said, this is still a C-List villain, so a limited “convention” exclusive was the way to go for sure.

And this figure of Boomerang is pretty dang great. The pin-free aesthetic looks superb, and the purple and blue color scheme is reasonably unique on your shelf (unless the Eel from the Abomination BAF Series happens to also be on that shelf). The costume is suitably on-point, with a few essential permanently attached boomerangs in place.

But this figure is really brought to a higher level by a strong load out of accessories. Boomerang has two awesome head sculpts, including a smirking portrait and an insane grin portrait. I really like both heads a lot this time, so I’m not sure which I’ll ultimately display.

An all-important pair of separate boomerangs is also included, along with extra hands (in addition to the default fists) to grip and throw them. The accessories I’d want are here and look great.

The Walmart Summer Con Exclusive Boomerang figure is up for order now while it lasts. With the impending Spider-mania about to overtake the world when Spider-Man Brand New Day comes out next week, I could see demand for this figure elevating quite a bit and very soon.

Alongside Boomerang, Hasbro has also opened pre-orders for a re-release of the the 80s Doctor Doom figure that they released as part of a two-pack with Monica Rambeau/Photon/Captain Marvel II a few years ago. This time, he’s on a snazzy Mattel-styled vintage Secret Wars cardback and includes a Secret Shield instead of the unmasked Victor von Doom head that the two-pack version had. I think this is a fun, if not entitrely necessary release–again, perfect for a limited store exclusive.
