It’s been almost a full year now since their most recent Marvel Bishoujo statue took the stage, but Kotobukiya is finally back at it again with an all-new addition to their long-running PVC figure lineup! Designed by Shunya Yamashita and sculpted by TSUBAME, former X-23 Laura Kinney is back with a new costume and codename: the Kotobukiya Bishoujo Wolverine Laura Kinney statue is now up for order! Laura has grown up and succeeded Logan as Wolverine–will her new Bishoujo succeed the old X-23 one in your collection?

Kotobukiya only brought along a singular piece of concept art for their long-running Marvel Bishoujo statues series when they travelled to New York Toy Fair 2020 during the winter, so there was never any mystery regarding what the next release would be: Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat. The original 2011 release required an awful support stand and looked too much like a little girl for me, so I had high hopes for this new iteration. And now that the Kotobukiya Black Cat Steals Your Heart Bishoujo statue is up for order, I’m happy to say that my optimism has been rewarded…
Continue Reading →New York Comic Con 2020 is not something I expected to be talking about in May 2020–especially since it’s uncertain whether or not that beloved annual October event is even going to occur this year. But Kotobukiya had other thoughts, because this week they went and announced a limited edition exclusive for the show—that’s only available via pre-order from online retailers! The Kotobukiya NYCC 2020 Bishoujo Phoenix Rebirth (Green) Statue is now up for order—is this an exclusive worth locking in?
Continue Reading →Kotobukiya didn’t bring quite as elaborate of a spread of new Marvel statues to display at New York Toy Fair 2020 as they have in past years, but they did bring along a few previously announced figures to show off in the United States for the very first time! Along with the ARTFX Premier Scarlet Witch statue that’s now up for order, they also displayed the ARTFX Premier Captain Marvel and the concept art for the new version of a Black Cat Bishoujo PVC statue!

Luckily, even if the movie was a total dud, Dark Phoenix toys are almost always popular. Or at least, that’s what Kotobukiya is hoping, because the new Bishoujo Dark Phoenix Rebirth figure is now up for order—and it’s the most expensive Marvel Bishoujo ever made by a wide margin!
Continue Reading →Kotobukiya Marvel Bishoujo collectors have had a rather boring last few years, as the last time a new character went up for order was in 2017—and that Captain Marvel Bishoujo figure was cancelled until further notice and has never come out at all. But patience is a virtue, and the line lives on: after appearing in unpainted form at New York Toy Fair 2019, the Kotobukiya Domino Bishoujo Statue is now up for order!
Continue Reading →For big fans of the Kotobukiya Bishoujo Marvel statues series, 2017 was pretty much a bust. The Bishoujo Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan Statue debuted at New York Toy Fair 2017 in February and shipped in the fall, and, well… that was pretty much it. There wasn’t even a SDCC or NYCC exclusive Bishoujo this year. But the dry spell is finally coming to an end, with a statue that’s just begging for exclusive variants next year: the Kotobukiya Bishoujo Captain Marvel Statue is now up for order!
Continue Reading →Although some of the very first photos that I uploaded to the site from New York Toy Fair 2017 last month were of the newly-revealed Kotobukiya Ms. Marvel Bishoujo statue, I got sidetracked and never went back to really talk about the figure. Sorry, Kamala Khan! But don’t worry, Kamala, you won’t be getting ignored anymore: the Kotobukiya Bishoujo Ms. Marvel statue is now up for order! Let’s take a look at the very first statue of one of Marvel’s most popular young heroes…
Continue Reading →Unlike past years, Kotobukiya didn’t bring any never-before-seen Marvel statues prototypes to New York Comic Con 2016 this week.
But while we didnt get to see anything totally unannounced at NYCC 2016, we did get to see several updated sculptures in person for the very first time at the event–including the Bishoujo Squirrel Girl and painted versions of the Super Deadpool ARTFX and Vision Fine Arts statues!
Continue Reading →Over the weekend I talked about a trio of new Kotobukiya Marvel statues that unexpectedly debuted at SDCC 2016 last week–but I didn’t talk about the statues we were expecting to see that were revealed there. Such is the case with a piece I was skeptical about–right up until I saw it. It might be one of the very best (and most classy) additions to the Marvel Bishoujo line yet: the 1/7 Kotobukiya Lady Thor Bishoujo statue is now up for order!
Continue Reading →In a few hours we’ll have proverbial longboxes filled with new Marvel toy news and photos to share from the Hasbro Marvel SDCC 2016 panel. But in the meantime, there’s some other companies whose reveals from San Diego Comic-Con 2016 deserve attention, and one of those companies is Kotobukiya! Along with the expected debuts of Bishoujo Loki and Lady Thor and the Spider-Man ARTFX+ Series, Koto also unveiled two totally unexpected surprises: the Kotobukiya Vision Fine Arts Statue and Squirrel Girl Bishoujo!
Continue Reading →When Kotobukiya had official photos to show over the weekend alongside the first public look at the painted prototype of their Bishoujo Spider-Gwen statue at Japan’s Winter Wonder Festival 2016, the writing was on the wall that the immensely-anticipated Gwen Stacy staue pre-order was imminent.
And as it turns out, we didn’t have long to wait for her: the Kotobukiya Spider-Gwen Bishoujo statue is now up for order!
Continue Reading →When you’re the biggest female breakout star Marvel has had in many years, you don’t have to wait long for your first statue to be released! This weekend at the 2016 Winter Wonder Festival, the Kotobukiya Spider-Gwen Bishoujo statue was fully revealed–including an unmasked Gwen Stacy head!
But Gwen’s not coming alone–Kotobukiya Bishoujo Loki (!!!) and Lady Thor statues were also announced at the event!
Continue Reading →If there was one Marvel collectibles-producing manufacturer whose New York Comic-Con 2015 showing came perilously close to disappointing me, it was Kotobukiya. With the exception of some Spider-Gwen Bishoujo concept art, there were zero new Marvel products on display at the Kotobukiya booth.
But it turns out Koto was actually just holding out on us until their Sunday panel, where they revealed new statues of Thanos, Beast and Spider-Gwen!
Continue Reading →With his own FOX movie coming next year, an all-new comic book series this fall and figures and statues coming down the pike from almost every merchandisers, everything’s coming up Deadpool! But one thing I don’t remember anyone asking for is a statue of a sexy female Deadpool. However, maybe Kotobukiya knows what we want even more than we do ourselves, because the Lady Deadpool Bishoujo statue is now up for order!
