Considering the fact that the 2013 Scarlet Spider Marvel Legends figure has been in the header for this site ever since I opened it over half a decade ago, I don’t think anyone will be stunned to learn that I’m a big Kaine Parker fan. While that ML Rocket Raccoon Series figure is a bit dated by today’s standards, I loved (and still do love) it. But time has marched forward, action figures have advanced, and it was time for a new version of Kaine to be released. The Marvel Legends SP//DR Series Scarlet Spider figure is already selling out and escalating in price: is it worth upgrading before it’s too late?

Earlier this year, Hasbro gave 6” figure collectors their very first dose of a modern X-23 Marvel Legends figure in the Deadpool Sasquatch Series with X-Force X-23. I was taken off-guard by how much I liked that figure, primarily because of its awesome head sculpt. But a few months later, Hasbro hit Laura Kinney fans up again with the version of the character everyone had been waiting for: the Marvel Legends X-23 Wolverine figure! Though she’s hard to find in some areas, you can get ML X-23 Wolverine online for MSRP without a fuss—should you?

While I initially thought that there might not be enough marketable related characters to produce a second wave of Deadpool Legends, Hasbro drew from a much deeper well and used the Sauron Series to give us an assortment that’s more of a pseudo second X-Men wave for the year than anything else. And one of its highlights is an X-Men villain we haven’t seen in 6” form in 13 years! Marvel Legends Omega Red is available now online for above retail price: should you replace your Toybiz version with this one?

Though it came in totally under the radar for some folks, the last Marvel movie of 2018 is officially out this weekend—Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse! No, it’s not part of the MCU—but believe it or not, it just might be as good as any MCU movie this year! And to celebrate the film’s launch, I’ve got a Review for a figure I’ve been holding off on for just this occasion. It’s the final BAF I hadn’t reviewed yet from 2018: Marvel Legends SP//DR Build-A-Figure! You can get SP//DR for 40 bucks completed on ebay–is it worth it?

The clock is ticking on getting reviews for 2018 Marvel Legends figures posted in their “birth” year, so today I’m doing a two-for-one special with my Marvel Legends Cloak and Dagger Review! When it comes to the upper-echelon of Marvel supporting characters who have never been able to support their own series long-term, Cloak and Dagger have to be considered near the very top of that list. As you might expect, these are two separate figures you’ll have to buy individually. Are ML Cloak & Dagger worth the 35-40 bucks?

UPDATE 12/4/2018: This box set has been so popular that I wasn’t sure at all that this kind of sale would ever actually come, but the Deal of the Day that Sentinel army-builders have been dreaming of has finally arrived–today only, the Marvel Legends Sentinel and Days of Future Past Wolverine set is 42% Off! At this kind of discount, I’ve got a hunch this may be the day this set sells out for good! If you want this set–now is the time!

Marvel Legends collectors have had a rare respite for the last few months as far as new pre-orders go, but the drought is over and your wallets can tremble in fear once again: the 2019 Marvel Legends Spider-Man Kingpin Series and Black Panther Legends M’Baku Series are now up for order! And thankfully, singles are available of every figure in the M’Baku wave (including the Dora Milaje) right off the bat! Is ML 2019 off to a hot start, or are these two waves not hitting the right notes for you?

UPDATE 11/21/2018: Though the Marvel Legends Magik and Thing figures started appearing at some Walgreens stores almost two months ago, a lot of collectors have still been struggling to find them locally. But fear not, Illyana fans–you shan’t have to walk past the Walgreens cashier empty-handed anymore: the Exclusive Marvel Legends Magik figure is finally up for order online!

UPDATE 11/17/2018: For those who haven’t found him locally and/or missed the PO in the summer, the Gamestop Exclusive Marvel Legends PS4 Spider-Man 6″ figure is in-stock and back up online while he lasts! I’ve heard quite a few people say these have been getting bought up by their local scalpers, so online may be the way to go for those folks in scalper zones. Those who’ve got their Hasbro GamerVerse Spider-Man figure already: what do you think?

With somewhere between a month and a month and a half before the 2019 Marvel Legends Black Panther M’Baku Series starts appearing, we’ve got a bit of time to wait before we’re likely to see more Hasbro ML news. But hey, it’s not a total loss, as I still have plenty of review-less 2018 figures to cover! The Venom Legends series has been almost a unilateral win across the board so far, but there’s one figure left to review: Marvel Legends Typhoid Mary is already selling for below retail price, but that doesn’t mean she’s not a solid figure…

Today is likely to forevermore be the saddest day in the history of Marvel, as the iconic genius Stan Lee has left us. It’s a loss we’ll all be feeling for years, but I think also an ideal time to look ahead to the future of the company that Stan Lee made a legend (and vice versa). And what better series to look at than what’s been announced for the 2019 Marvel Legends Avengers 4 Figures lineup, an assortment running the gamut of comic book characters from Stan’s early days through characters from the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movies…

With no more major toy conventions in 2018 and the Black Panther Legends M’Baku Series at least a month away from shipping out (and very possibly being held for a January 1st, 2019 release date), we’re likely going to be going through a bit of a Marvel Legends news dry spell once again for the rest of the year. Which means it’s time to dig into the big cache of unreviewed figures once again! Last time, I talked about one of the best Build-A-Figures ever in Sauron, and this time, let’s look at one of the Deadpool Wave 2 figures you need to buy to build him: Marvel Legends Bishop!
