Black Panther Marvel Legends Klaue Figure

When Hot Toys made a T’Chaka Black Panther sixth scale figure one of their summer convention exclusives, it seemed like a pretty audacious and out-of-left-field pick. I mean, c’mon: half of collectors didn’t even remember T’Chaka wearing that costume in the movie, right…? Well, turns out maybe that pick wasn’t as crazy as it seemed–because Hasbro is following suit! As part of their SDCC 2018 festivities, Hasbro has announced Marvel Legends Black Panther Wave 2–including Ulysses Klaue, King T’Chaka and more!

X-Men Marvel Legends Apocalypse BAF Review

It’s taken almost a full year since the wave started to be unveiled at San Diego Comic Con 2017, but the long-anticipated 2018 Marvel Legends X-Men Apocalypse Series is finally starting to ship out to online retailers and some brick and mortar stores. I wanted to kick off my figure reviews for this wave with something big—and what’s bigger than the Build-A-Figure, right? The Marvel Legends Apocalypse BAF is selling for north of 100 bucks right now all by himself—is he fit to survive for that kind of money?

2018 SDCC Red Skull Marvel Legends Figures with Tesseract

Alongside the annual SDCC Exclusive Marvel Legends 6″ figures box set, Hasbro usually has one more exclusive goodie for Marvel collectors. Sometimes it’s a 3.75″ Marvel Universe-scaled exclusive (like that awesome The Collector’s Vault set with Lockjaw!), and sometimes it’s a 12″ figure (like Daredevil). But this year, it’s something we haven’t gotten before as a Comic-Con Exclusive. The first-ever SDCC Exclusive Marvel Legends life-size replica: the electronic Tesseract–plus a 6″ Red Skull from Captain America: The First Avenger!

Hasbro has done an increasingly good job over the past few years in producing more of the important characters from the various Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, but there are quite a few characters that fell through the cracks. Luckily, Hasbro is giving many collectors what they want and filling in the gaps! Close-Up of BAF Cull Obsidian Black Order Marvel Legends Action Figure

While Avengers Infinity War will go down as one of the most legendary superhero team-up movies in history, it didn’t just feature many beloved existing characters interacting—it also introduced some significant new villains to non-comic book readers in the form of Thanos’ Black Order. Proxima Midnight was the sole representative in the first wave of Infinity War Marvel Legends, but she’s got some large help now. The Marvel Legends Cull Obsidian Build-A-Figure is on the scene and selling for $60+ on the aftermarket: is it worth building this big boy?

Black Knight Marvel Legends Avengers Infinity War Figure Review

Marvel Legends Infinity War Wave 2 is a pretty weird series, as the set is split three ways between characters from the comics and the Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers Infinity War movies. But not only is the Cull Obsidian Series an unusually eclectic mix—it’s also been unusually hard to find in stores. And among the harder figures to come by is the one new comic book-based figures in the wave: Marvel Legends Black Knight…
