Not only did Hasbro reveal and open pre-orders for the exclusive Marvel Legends 20th Anniversary Hulk figure (no Toad just yet, sadly), but they also surprise-debuted all eight figures in the X-Men Legends 2022 series as well—including Siryn, First Appearance Sabretooth, the Bonebreaker Build-A-Figure and more!

Oftentimes, Hasbro successfully uses a Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure as a proverbial carrot to entice collectors into buying an entire series of figures to build an essential character such as the Kingpin or Sauron. The subject of today’s review… is not one of those characters. The Marvel Legends Super Villains series is bringing us some of the most fan-demanded villains in toy form from across the Marvel Universe, but the BAF is easily the most obscure character in the whole wave. Even so, the Marvel Legends Xemnu Build-A-Figure is still selling for about 80 bucks on the aftermarket. Is this super-articulated niche figure worth those lofty prices?

Rumors have been a-swirlin’ all winter that Hasbro had a new Marvel Legends Maestro figure in development. Initially fans thought this evil, future Hulk might be coming in the “Bring on the Bad Guys” wave, but leaks indicated that might not be the case. And to kick off the second month of 2021, Hasbro has confirmed that (and this year’s second new ML figure)—the new deluxe Marvel Legends Maestro figure is now up for order! 2020 has been an unusually slow year for Marvel Select collectors, with only two new figures shown by Diamond Select Toys in the first half of the year: comic book and movie versions of a Taskmaster Select figure. But during the online Comic Con festivities last month, an all-new comics-based figure debuted–and today, he’s officially solicited: the Marvel Select Rampaging Hulk figure is now up for order! Although I wasn’t exactly giddy regarding the lineup of the 2020 Marvel Legends Avengers GamerVerse figures series, four of the six figures with Abomination Build-A-Figure parts were comics-based and thus must-buys for me, so I decided to go for broke and ended up buying GamerVerse Iron Man and Ms. Marvel to complete the Build-A-Figure. The Marvel Legends GamerVerse Abomination BAF is selling for 60 bucks by his lonesome on eBay—but is he worth building or buying outright at all?

This year’s sole wave of Avengers Legends is a real anomaly in the modern era of Hasbro Marvel Legends in that, well… I don’t particularly want half the figures in the wave (including the Build-A-Figure!). Maybe I’ll turn around completely once the Square-Enix Avengers video game hits, but for the moment, this GamerVerse Marvel Legends Abomination Series is leaving me cold. Luckily, half the wave is composed of comic book characters, including the subject of today’s review: is it worth following The Leader Marvel Legends figure all the way to checkout?

In the build-up to San Diego Comic Con 2019 in July, Hot Toys posted some very obvious teasers for what are the two biggest omissions from their Avengers Endgame MMS 1/6 figure lineup: Endgame (Fat) Thor and (Professor) Hulk.
