While their collector-oriented releases for 2014 are just about at an end, Hasbro still has a plethora of kid-focused Marvel action figures lined up for the second half of 2014! The Hasbro Marvel Super Hero Mashers figures are a line that I legit thought were some sort of prank when they debuted, but their stylized look has really started to grow on me. And now I’ve ordered a pair of Marvel Mashers figures online for the first time ever. Why? Because it’s two characters I can never seem to pass on–the Marvel Mashers Deadpool and Red Hulk figures have now been released!

Hulk is a unique character in that he doesn’t just change his costume–he changes his entire person when he changes into different forms of himself. But not content with the one-man-army of iterations of himself, Hulk has joined a super-team composed entirely of Hulk-related characters for a currently-airing animated series–“Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.”! The “Hulk and the Agents of SMASH” cartoon series has been running for almost a full year now and has had a successful run, and that means that Hasbro has finally deigned to give fans what they really want: toys! The first Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. figures and toys have now been released!

Although we’ve been waiting for Marvel to officially announce the Funko Marvel SDCC 2014 exclusives, I surmised instantly what they were going to be based off of the vague hints that Funko posted many weeks ago. One of the hints indicated there would be a San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusive Marvel Mystery Minis set of twelve figures–and lo and behold, that’s exactly what it is! But while most Funko Comic Con exclusives turn out to be straight-up repaints, Funko has surprised us by including some brand new molds unexpectedly as part of the 2014 SDCC Exclusive set!

When the Marvel Select Unmasked Spider-Man figure from the Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie surfaced for sale a few weeks ago with no prior announcement whatsoever, I made a pretty big deal of how flabbergasted I was that Diamond Select Toys managed to secretly get a figure through design and production and into collectors’ hands without the secret leaking out. Well, they’ve done it again! Though it most likely wasn’t meant to appear just yet, a new Disney Store exclusive Marvel Select Savage Hulk figure has appeared for sale online this weekend!

I do my best to plan my collecting budget for the year around the estimated release dates that Hot Toys gives us for their various Marvel 1/6 figures, as those tend to be the most expensive figures I buy each year. But, well–sometimes you need to be flexible, and this is apparently going to be one of those times!
