Pre-orders for the hotly-anticipated Marvel Legends Moon Knight and Mr. Knight figures open up tomorrow, so while we wait, here’s a new entry in my continuing series of Iron Studios X-Men Statue reviews. This time it’s the steel-skinned Russian strongman himself: Iron Studios Colossus!

The once-unthinkable happened last week, when longtime niche “B-List” fan-favorite character Moon Knight became a household name to millions and millions of Disney+ viewers who had never been exposed to the character previously. And a new boost in notoriety also means new merch! Hasbro, Diamond Select Toys, Funko, Hot Toys and more are all answering the call with newly-revealed Moon Knight figures, including Marvel Legends, Marvel Select and even POP Vinyls!

So you could say I was a Deadpool-collecting fanboy before Deadpool was cool—or at least since before he was gratuitously merchandised. As such, I was primed and ready to buy whatever Deadpool Iron Studios put out as soon as they announced it was on the way. Deadpool turns out to be one of the most expensive entries in the whole X-Men BDS statues lineup… but that doesn’t mean he’s necessarily one of the best…
Continue Reading →general consensus I’m hearing about the new Marvel Legends Sabretooth figure that went up for pre-order this week is that fans think the first appearance look is novel… but what they really want is a buff 90s styled Sabretooth. While it may be another year (or more until Hasbro gets to that iteration, fans wanting a killer representation of Creed in this approximate scale sooner aren’t entirely out of luck. The recent X-Men Iron Studios Sabretooth statue is just about the right size figure, and a real beauty of a 1:10 statue as well…
Continue Reading →It was when Iron Studios actually solicited a resin statue of Pyro that I knew they were dead serious about making their 1:10 scale X-Men Battle Diorama Series the deepest range of X-Men statues ever made–and also when I started to get really, really excited about the line. Now that he’s in-hand at an affordable-ish ~$160, is this fiery former member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants worth his price-tag?
Continue Reading →Losing most of my vision (and function of my left side) has altered what and how I collect somewhat. If I can’t see (or lift) enormous statues that are larger than my field of vision, what’s the use in having them, right…? And so, I’ve begun prioritizing smaller, lighter statues such as the 1/10 scale Battle Diorama Series from Iron Studios. And thus, I’ve backtracked to pick up some pieces from the last year or so that I missed—including some statues from Avengers Endgame such as the subject of today’s review: the Iron Studios Endgame Rescue statue is a great value at $105 shipped—should you add this Pepper Potts to your collection?
Continue Reading →hardcore X-Men fanboy-ism was born in the early 90s, so I have vivid memories of thinking Bishop was the coolest and most badass dude ever. The ripped, arms-wielding enforcer from the future was a central character and plot element for years after his arrival, and I was delighted to buy his first-ever mini bust and statue from Bowen Designs a good decade-plus ago. And now, I’ve added another resin Bishop to my collection. The 1/10 scale Iron Studios Bishop statue is now shipping—is it worth having this time-traveler travel to your home? Here’s my review…
Continue Reading →Sideshow Collectibles’ once rapidly-expanding lineup of 1/4 Premium Format X-Men statues has slowed to a glacial pace over the last two years, but Iron Studios is picking up the slack and popping out 1/10 X-Men statues at an unprecedented rate—including never-before-done-as-statues characters like Spiral and even Elsie-Dee/Albert! It seems with their smaller, more affordable Battle Diorama Series, Iron Studios has hit a sweet spot with modern collectors with limited space and disposable funds! As they captured my full attention long, long ago, I figured it was high time I review something from the X-Men line: focusing on the Deluxe Magneto Iron Studios BDS statue!
Continue Reading →After years making their mark in the collecting sphere with Marvel movie-based statues, Iron Studios finally gained the attention of superhero comics-based collectors everywhere when they debuted their line of 1/10 X-Men Sentinel diorama statues two years ago. The X-Men BDS (Battle Diorama Series) has since become an ever-expanding “golden goose” for the company—and now the line is expanding even further! The Iron Studios Havok and Magik statues are now up for order, and upcoming X-Men statues of Spiral, Mojo and Sauron have been revealed!
Continue Reading →It’s hard to believe since the perception of time went all screwy when a pandemic threw off the rhythm of the entire world, but it’s been over a year-plus now that we’ve known Iron Studios had an exclusive 1/10 scale Juggernaut statue on the way as a stand-alone (separate from the Sentinel) part of their X-Men statues series. Cain arrived internationally months ago, but the time has arrived for US folk: the limited Iron Studios Juggernaut exclusive statue is now up for order only on Sideshow’s website!
Continue Reading →Last week I discussed half of Iron Studios’ latest round of 1:10 scale X-Men Battle Diorama Series statues by looking at a quartet of new pieces including Sabretooth, Pyro, Colossus and Omega Red. But IS has gone all-in on the X-Men, and there’s still another trifecta of heavy-hitter headliners to preview: the Iron Studios Jean Grey, Emma Frost and Bishop BDS statues are all up for order now! Does IS continue their hot streak with more definitive versions of iconic X-Men team members…?
Continue Reading →After an agonizingly slow several months for Marvel collectors, things are starting to heat up again for collectors with several Marvel Legends series starting to arrive and many new pre-orders rolling in. And Iron Studios in particular is on the assault with their 1:10 Battle Diorama Series—Iron Studios X-Men Colossus, Sabretooth, Pyro and Omega Red statues are all up for order now! How are these space-saving, wallet-saving statues looking? Let’s have a peek…
Continue Reading →Marvel toy news is trickling in at a glacial pace during this global pandemic—but there’s at least one company that’s been going full speed ahead over the course of the past week, putting a whopping FOUR new X-Men statues up for order! Adding another quartet to their 1:10 scale BDS (Battle Diorama Series) of X-Men vs. Sentinel-themed resin statues, the Iron Studios Iceman, Storm, Psylocke and Archangel statues are all now up for order! How’d they come out? Let’s have a look…
Continue Reading →Last month, Iron Studios debuted their mind-blowingly X-Men vs. Sentinel statue that, while amazing, 99%+ of collectors could (or would) never, ever pay ~$1800 for. But all is not lost for X-Men fans with smaller display areas (or smaller credit limits)! Iron Studios had a plan for those collectors as well, and after a few weeks of slowly rolling them out, affordably-priced Iron Studios Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast and Rogue statues are all up for order individually! If you can’t have these with the massive Sentinel diorama, are worth the investment?
Continue Reading →Hasbro kicked off the week by officially allowing orders for the Marvel Legends Grey Hulk and Retro Deadpool figures, finally making enough of both available for everyone who wants them. But now, let’s take a look at an offering from another company that few collectors will have space for—and even fewer the funds for! It’s legit one of the craziest statues I’ve ever seen in my life: the first Iron Studios X-Men vs. Sentinel statue is now up for PO! (Wait, did I say “first”…?)
