Sideshow Collectibles has made it no secret that they were planning on making variants of their new-for-2016, gravity-defying Spider-Man Premium Format Figure. In fact, before ol’ classic red-and-blue Spidey even went up for order, an image had already leaked out of a Black Costume Spider-Man Premium Format statue.

At SDCC 2015 last month we got our first official look at the piece, and now the day has arrived that black costume fans can finally claim their Spidey of choice: the Sideshow Premium Format Symbiote Spider-Man statue goes up for sale Thursday afternoon!

Believe it or not, it was almost a full year ago to the day that Sideshow Collectibles announced the fourth statue in the line of J. Scott Campbell Spider-Man Maquettes: Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat! But while collectors waited patiently for the entirety of 2014 for the first image of the Sideshow Black Cat statue to be posted, ultimately the Black Cat never made her debut last year.

Some wondered if Sideshow had given up on the J. Scott Campbell statues line and quietly (silently) cancelled it, but fear not: the very first image of the J. Scott Campbell Black Cat statue has now been revealed!

When Sideshow Collectibles unveiled their amazing quarter-scale Iron Patriot and Iron Man Mark XLII maquettes last year, I was so lovestruck that I sincerely wished that Sideshow would tackle the other prominent Iron Man armors from earlier Iron Man movies. I should have been careful what I wished for, though, as Sideshow now has a multitude of Iron Man quarter-scale maquettes lined up to be released over the next few years. And going up for order later this week with jaw-dropping good looks (and a matching price-tag)–the Sideshow Iron Man Mark II Maquette!

I love a good action figure repaint as much as the next guy, especially when it’s a well-done and fan-requested version of a character that collectors have been asking for. In the case of statues that cost hundreds of dollars, I’m a bit more picky.

In my eyes, Marvel Studios can just about do no wrong. But if they could do wrong, that wrong would likely be called “Thor The Dark World”. While I didn’t think that “Thor The Dark World” was bad, per se, it was definitely the lowest-quality Marvel Studios movie released thus far. Even so, there are three things I love about “Thor The Dark World” (in this order): Natalie Portman, Loki, and Thor’s new costume. Though I would have preferred the other two, Sideshow has crafted a killer new statue for one of these aspects: the Sideshow Exclusive Thor The Dark World Premium Format Figure goes up for order this week!

We only talk about Marvel toys and collectibles here on Marvel Toy News, which means that I rarely get the pleasure of talking about concept art and designs for upcoming Marvel Studios movies. But today, I’ve got a news item that just barely squeaks into the realm of collectibles, as the originally-leaked image of this concept art was stamped all over with the word “Sideshow”–referring to one of the world’s biggest producers of high-end Marvel collectibles, Sideshow Collectibles. Based off that leaked image, it may be time to start looking forward to a Sideshow Avengers Age of Ultron Vision movie statue in 2015!

I was pretty lucky during the first ten days of Sideshow Collectibles’ Online Comic Con 2014 event. And by “lucky”, I mean that Sideshow didn’t put up a single item that I was going to be dropping hundreds of dollars on. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending upon your point of view), Sideshow hit the jackpot today with my wallet. Not only did Sideshow put the Hot Toys Bones Iron Man I’ve been lusting after for a year up for sale, but the humongous, long-awaited 32″ Sideshow Sentinel Maquette Statue is now up for order!
