Having talked about some of the coolest Symbiote figures Hasbro has ever done over the last two weeks, it’s only fair that today I turn my attention to the one figure in the Marvel Legends Venom Series that’s a big letdown for me: sadly, Venom himself. We last got a single-carded Venom figure back in 2016 as part of the Spider-Man Absorbing Man Series. Does this newly-released ML Venom figure bring anything valuable to the table for those who have the previous version…?

I’m at the halfway point in my series of Venom Legends reviews, so I think it’s time I spotlighted the character more people requested a review of than any other in the wave: the Marvel Legends Monster Venom Build-A-Figure! The Monster Venom BAF is burning up the aftermarket and selling for about 75 bucks alone right now–is Hasbro’s bulkiest symbiote action figure ever worth the big money that collectors are paying for it?

Perhaps the most-anticipated video game of the year without “Smash Bros.” in the title, the long-awaited PS4 Spider-Man video game is finally hitting store shelves today. And while they’ve traditionally focused on Marvel movie figures, Hot Toys isn’t about to let this milestone go un-celebrated for sixth scale figure fans: the Spider-Man Hot Toys Spider-Punk figure is now up for order! You will believe Spidey can have a Mohawk made of spikes, wear denim and play the guitar!
Continue Reading →I know that there are tens of thousands of fans hella excited about the release of the Spider-Man PS4 video game—but, well… I half-forgot it was coming out at all until the PS4 Spider-Man Collector’s Edition turned up on my doorstep today. The mystery Spider-Man Statue alone has been selling for $100+ online, so I was dying to dig in and see what it looked like. Was it worth spending the extra 90 bucks to get the limited edition version…?

Want to cherry-pick the classic Vision, Scarlet Spider or Blue Wasp figures? Thanks to individual figures being available from the get-go, every character is available on their own for PO right now!
Continue Reading →When I asked readers on social media what recently-released Hasbro Marvel Legends figures I should prioritize reviewing first, I was pretty stunned to see a multitude of votes for the Venom Legends Poison figure. Having never read even one panel with the character before, I rushed to buy the Venomverse TPB so I wouldn’t be writing blind. Now that I’m thoroughly acquainted with both the character and the Marvel Legends Poison figure that’s now available, what’s the verdict? Read on…
Continue Reading →When I cracked open three cases of new Marvel Legends waves all at once today, I was rather overwhelmed and unsure of where to start with reviews. Well… almost unsure where to start, anyway! Because the character whose inclusion puts the biggest smile on my face of any new ML figure this year is in this wave, and there was no way I could pass up doing his review first. Kicking off my Venom Legends reviews is a figure I never thought would be done: Marvel Legends Spider-Ham is now available!
Continue Reading →We may still have almost a month of summer to go, but it’s never to early start planning ahead for the holidays—or at least, Funko thinks so! While we’ve only gotten a couple holiday Marvel Funko items in the past, The Big F is going all-out this year with whole series of both Holiday Marvel POP Vinyls and Pint-Size Heroes now up for PO! Behold the majesty of Ugly Sweater Thanos and Snowman Captain America!
Continue Reading →After an extended moratorium on X-Men characters in the Marvel Select figure line, Diamond Select Toys is giving X-fans a lot of love in 2018. At New York Toy Fair 2018 they revealed Beast, and at San Diego Comic Con we got the unexpected reveal of Rogue. We had to wait a month for the solicitation, but the Southern Belle is on the way: Marvel Select Rogue is now up for order! (Oh, and there’s a new Gallery Spider-Man PVC as well…)
Continue Reading →Earlier this weekend I talked about the new wave of Funko Avengers Infinity War POP Vinyls, the latest entries in a line beloved by tens of millions for its low-priced, super-deformed, space-saving Figures. Today, I’m going to talk about the antithesis of Funko POPs—humongous, ultra-realistic, limited-edition, crazy-expensive resin statues! You guessed it: it’s time to talk about the 1:4 Iron Studios Thanos and Iron Spider statues that are now up for order!
Continue Reading →The next 12 months are going to be a big one for Spider-Man, with not one, but two Spider-Man movies (plus the Venom movie!) hitting theaters. Have no fears about there not being enough merch, though—Hasbro has got us covered! Following up the Marvel Legends Venom series that’s currently up for order, Hasbro announced the first of the 2019 Marvel Legends Spider-Man Figures—including a Kingpin Build-A-Figure, the Red Goblin, Silver Sable and more!
Continue Reading →UPDATE: The Venom Marvel Legends Series may have just gone up for sale a couple hours ago, but single figures of every Venom Legends figure are now available for PO as well! They’re not quite as cheap per figure as buying by the case, but if you just want to cherry-pick your favorites like Spider-Ham, Scream or Carnage, you might wanna jump on this before the popular shortpacked figures are gone!
Continue Reading →UPDATE: Yesterday this wave went up for sale by error, but it’s no accident today that not only are whole cases of the Marvel Legends SP//dr Series available–but single figures of Marvel Legends Doc Ock, Cloak/Dagger, Elektra and company are as well! They’re two bucks more per figure than buying by the case, but if you’re only looking to grab Doctor Octopus, Scarlet Spider, Daredevil or whoever for your collection, this is the time to do it!
Continue Reading →Earlier this week, I reviewed a Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure that I thought was solid overall but just a little bit boring: the Deadpool Legends Sasquatch BAF. Today I’m going to the opposite extreme with a review of a Build-A-Figure that’s anything but boring! The Marvel Legends Lizard BAF is the most expensive on the aftermarket of this year’s Build-A-Figures thus far and is quite difficult to find all the pieces for at retail. Is this classic Spidey villain worth the hype (and secondary market prices)?
Continue Reading →Every so often, Hasbro will end up releasing a 6” Marvel Legends figure that blows my mind in both positive and negative regard. Such is the case with one of the most difficult Marvel Legends figures to find at retail so far this year: Iron Spider! Though Marvel Legends Iron Spider is selling for double on the aftermarket and is tough to snag at retail, this release baffles by what’s present being perfect, and what’s not present driving collectors nuts…
