It used to be that you could count on some dead characters in the Marvel Universe staying dead–namely: Bucky, Uncle Ben and Gwen Stacy. But evidently nothing is holy anymore when it comes to dead folks, because iterations of all those characters are alive and active in current Marvel storylines.
But of that triumvirate, one of them is far hotter than the others, and now she’s getting her first superhero statue: the Kotobukiya Spider-Gwen Bishoujo is coming in 2016!

Tragically, in this day and age of early internet leaks, it’s getting harder and harder for toy companies to ever truly surprise collectors with reveals that are totally unexpected. On San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Preview Night, Hasbro debuted the Marvel Legends Walgreens exclusives that everyone had known about for months. And on Thursday–the first full day of the convention–Hasbro next debuting products turn out to be another lineup that avid fans already knew to expect–but man, what a lineup! Not only is 2015 on track to be the biggest year ever for long-running toy lines like Marvel Legends, Funko Marvel POP Vinyls, and Hot Toys Marvel figures, but it’s also the year that a slew of new lines are kicking off spotlighting iconic Marvel characters. While the Hasbro Marvel Legends Infinite Series 3 3/4″ figures are back in 2015 for another year, the style and articulation level of new molds have undergone a drastic change going forward. As far as I’m concerned, Peter Parker’s OTP is with Gwen Stacy. But if Gwen were to be dead (and she usually is), then I would have no problem getting together with my next-favorite Spider-Man related female: Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat. I had the great honor this morning of beginning the New York Toy Fair 2015 with the LEGO Preview Breakfast Event–two hours in the LEGO booth… with free danishes! Free! Of course, as delicious as the danishes were, that wasn’t the high point of the event. No, the high point was getting to see all of the summer 2015 LEGO Marvel sets in person–including the huge and awesome LEGO Marvel Rhino and Sandman Supervillain Team-Up 76037!
