When Sideshow Collectibles unveiled their amazing quarter-scale Iron Patriot and Iron Man Mark XLII maquettes last year, I was so lovestruck that I sincerely wished that Sideshow would tackle the other prominent Iron Man armors from earlier Iron Man movies. I should have been careful what I wished for, though, as Sideshow now has a multitude of Iron Man quarter-scale maquettes lined up to be released over the next few years. And going up for order later this week with jaw-dropping good looks (and a matching price-tag)–the Sideshow Iron Man Mark II Maquette!

I love a good action figure repaint as much as the next guy, especially when it’s a well-done and fan-requested version of a character that collectors have been asking for. In the case of statues that cost hundreds of dollars, I’m a bit more picky.

So while I’m not jumping for joy at the existence of a red-and-black J. Scott Campbell Spider-Man, I totally respect those excited for this repaint: the Sideshow Classic Spider-Man Comiquette is now up for order!

I’ve covered all of the totally new items that appeared at New York Comic Con 2014 now, but there were plenty more freshly updated items on display at the convention as well. One such item was the long in development Kotobukiya Rogue X-Men Danger Room Sessions Fine Arts Statue.

This summer Kotobukiya began teasing Marvel collectors about their next line of Marvel NOW! ARTFX+ statues that would be following up the hit Avengers ARTFX+ series.

Once Kotobukiya declared the series would be of another ultra-popular Marvel superhero team, it didn’t take a genius to guess who Kotobukiya was talking about, but today Kotobukiya announced it officially at NYCC 2014: the Kotobukiya X-Men ARTFX+ statues series will begin in 2015!

In my eyes, Marvel Studios can just about do no wrong. But if they could do wrong, that wrong would likely be called “Thor The Dark World”. While I didn’t think that “Thor The Dark World” was bad, per se, it was definitely the lowest-quality Marvel Studios movie released thus far. Even so, there are three things I love about “Thor The Dark World” (in this order): Natalie Portman, Loki, and Thor’s new costume. Though I would have preferred the other two, Sideshow has crafted a killer new statue for one of these aspects: the Sideshow Exclusive Thor The Dark World Premium Format Figure goes up for order this week!

…Well, that was fast. Kotobukiya hasn’t exactly been trying to keep it a secret that they have a grey X-Force Deadpool ARTFX+ variant statue in the works for next year, what with them openly talking about it at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 last month and showing off sneak peek photos last week. Even so, for some weird reason I thought that this variant statue wouldn’t be going up for sale for a while yet, as it was scheduled to be a store exclusive. I thought wrong! The statue will be exclusive to all retailers who use Diamond Previews, and the exclusive Kotobukiya Deadpool X-Force ARTFX+ statue variant is now up for order!

Following up the major pre-orders opening up for the Hot Toys Iron Man Bones Mark XLI figure and the Sideshow Sentinel Maquette, we have a Kotobukiya full reveal that fans have been waiting for literally all year! Kotobukiya meant to display the unpainted prototype of the Kotobukiya Brown Costume Wolverine Fine Arts statue at New York Toy Fair 2014, but snowstorms disagreed with their wishes.
