Toy Fair 2015: Marvel Legends Ant-Man Series! Ultron Prime BAF!

For months, rumors have circulated about possible Marvel Legends Ant-Man figures. While it was initially unknown if the Target listing for Marvel Legends Ant-Man referred to a singular figure or an entire series, Amazon accidentally leaked the identities of the six figures that might make up the wave a few weeks ago. But after New York Toy Fair 2015, Hasbro has played all their cards, confirming the six figures we thought were coming–and a Build-A-Figure we totally did not! Coming this summer: the Marvel Legends Ant-Man Infinite Series with Ultron Prime Build-A-Figure!

Marvel Legends Ultron Prime Build-A-Figure Ant-Man Marvel Legends Series

Even though we knew the seven figures making up the 2015 Marvel Legends Avengers Wave 3 series, Hasbro managed to shock us with a curveball by revealing the totally unexpected Hulkbuster Marvel Legends Build-A-Figure yesterday. And continuing that trend, they also unveiled the all-but-confirmed Ant-Man Marvel Legends figures series, along with another unexpected bonus: the Avengers Age of Ultron Ultron Prime Build-A-Figure!

Ultron Prime will stand around nine feet tall in the Avengers Age of Ultron movie, so to look at all properly-scaled with the Avengers Age of Ultron Marvel Legends figures, he’d need to be a Build-A-Figure. And thankfully–he is! The Marvel Legends Ultron Prime Build-A-Figure will stand 9″ tall, so he’ll be just about the right size to display with all your Marvel Legends AOU figures that aren’t Hulk or Hulkbuster Iron Man!

Meanwhile, the actual Ant-Man Marvel Legends series will contain a whopping one (yes, one) figure from the Ant-Man movie: a movie Ant-Man Marvel Legends figure. This is exactly what you’d expect–Scott Lang in the costume that he wears in the upcoming Ant-Man movie and the new Ant-Man comic book series.

Marvel Legends Ant-Man Accessories Flying Ant FigureWhile this Hasbro Ant-Man figure isn’t as detailed or nice overall as the Marvel Select Ant-Man figure, it does have one important advantage: a flying ant accessory for miniature Ant Man to fly around on! Brilliant accessory choice here by Hasbro. Love it!

And we can’t have Ant-Man without his best gal, can we? (Although Janet Van Dyne has never been Scott Lang’s best gal, but you get the idea). This is the first Hasbro-produced Marvel Legends Wasp 6″ figure, and as everyone guessed, she’s wearing her now-iconic black and yellow costume.

I really liked last year’s Marvel Infinite Series Wasp 4″ figure, but the Wasp Marvel Legends 2015 figure has far more impressive wings and a prettier face too, making it the superior figure.

Marvel Legends 2015 Ant-Man Series Giant Man FigureAnt-Man Marvel Legends 2015 Giant-Man Figure

For those who want a non-Antman Hank Pym figure, Hasbro’s got you covered as well! This Marvel Legends Giant-Man 6″ figure depicts Hank Pym in his Avengers Academy Giant-Man costume (you know, from when that buffoon Hank Pym let a bunch of his students by kidnapped and brutally murdered by Arcade).

We already have a large classic Giant-Man Build-A-Figure that’s perfectly nice, so I don’t mind getting a modern Marvel Legends Giant-Man in this wave (even if it’s not from one of the high points of Pym’s career).

Ant-Man Marvel Legends Grim Reaper FigureMarvel Legends Ant-Man Infinite Series Grim Reaper Figure

Next up, we’ve got Wonder Man’s bro–the Marvel Legends Grim Reaper! Grim Reaper is sporting a new, mid-sized body mold that looks like a great match for him. I think his maniacal grin may be slightly over-the-top, but this is an overall solid figure for a character many thought would never appear in 6″ form.

Ant Man Marvel Legends Bulldozer Figure Wrecking Crew

Marvel Legends Bulldozer Figure (Ant-Man Infinite Series)

And finally, we’ve got a pair of long-lost Marvel Legends figures that have been missing in action since 2013: Bulldozer and Tigershark!

The Marvel Legends Bulldozer is one of the most fan-demanded releases ever, and now, about four years after the release of the first two members, the Marvel Legends Wrecking Crew will be complete! Bulldozer’s release will truly be a momentous occasion for the Marvel Legends line.

And while Tigershark isn’t the most popular villain around, he’ll give my buddy Baron Zemo one more subordinate for his Marvel Legends Masters of Evil roster.

Ant-Man Legends Tigershark Figure Hasbro 2015The Marvel Legends Ant-Man Series should be available for order in late winter 2015, and is scheduled for release in summer 2015. After the major success of last year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends series, I’ll be curious to see if the Ant-Man Legends sell equally as hot.

What’s your excitement level for the Marvel Legends Ant-Man Infinite Series figures, Marvel collectors? Will you be buying these figures out of sheer love for them, solely to build the Ultron Prime BAF, or not at all?

Toy Fair 2015: Marvel Legends Ant-Man Series! Ultron Prime BAF! — 20 Comments

  1. With all this new product being shown I wonder if it is all actually going to be released. It would be a slap in the face if Hasbro pulled the nonsense they pulled a few years back and only release some of this stuff.

  2. Good year for 6″ collecters. Makes me wanna jump the sinking 3.75″ ship. Wish I didnt have so much catching up to do. 1:12 gets 3 series with BAFs and 2 exclusive packs….1:18 gets one series, and the ant man with a fly if you wanna count that as a pack.

  3. Where’s Ant Man movie series legends yellow jacket we need a villain in this wave of figures we just can’t have Ant man or what its going to be like the guardians of the galaxy where we got the heroes but no villain no Ronan so who are the guardians of the galaxy going to face them selves? As for Ant Man we need a main villain figure. We need to demand more movie action figures so we can collect them.where now in the Marvel cinematic universe we need to demand more movie legends.we better get the vision, quicksilver and scarlet witch movie based legends to add to are collection.

    • It takes well over a year to develop and produce a fully-detailed, articulated action figure. Reference materials for Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision and Yellowjacket weren’t ready early enough, so those figures aren’t ready now.

It’s not a matter of Hasbro picking comic figures over movie figures–in many cases, we get a comic version of say Vision as opposed to getting nothing at all because the movie designs aren’t finalized.

      • Yeah i understand but it sucks where only getting ant man for the movie wave to build Ultron I was expectingThor, black widow,Hawkeye, scarlet witch, quicksilver and vision based off the film.I’m a movie series action figure collector, and for me getting these remolds for the avengers and getting comic book action figures from the avengers age of ultron toy line seems like a complete waist of money.Im really hoping Hasbro makes at least a three pack of the vision, quicksilver and scarlet witch becouse those are going to be lots of figures I don’t need. All I need from the build a figure are hulkbuster, ultron, war machine and ant man then the rest are figures I don’t need, besides the three pack Agents and the four pack of the avengers.

        • movie figures are good comic figures are better. If you only collect movie figures your not a true marvel fan your a fan boy.

          • What a prick comment to make. His purchase of movie figures keeps your comic figures in business you elitist douchebag.

  4. Can somebody please explain to me how disney and all marvels toy manufacturers allowed this (what so far appears) to be juiceless movie Ant-man ?!? I mean there is almost nothing to turn into merchandise !!!! I hear stories about manufacturers forcing characters into movies so they can have more to sell !! How did they get anyway with only having Ant-man in this movie ?!? How ?!

    • Read up on how long this movie has been in production. Then come back with how many “how”s you come up with. With this film, it has always been more about the story and the characters than to fitting into the MCU movie/merchandise pipeline.

    • Right, but that’ll get its own article later, as it’s a solo item and not a Marvel Legends 6″ figure.

  5. I know I should be exited about all these figures but I was really hoping for a classic Ant Man figure so I feel kind of disappointed.

  6. I am totally buzzed for this series. I have waited a very long time for one of my absolute favorite villains. Tigershark!!!!!!!!!!!!!, Also want Grim Reaper and Bulldozer. Love the Ultron but don’t care for Ant Man and mini Giant Man. Would love to see Hank Pym as Goliath using the old Giant Man with new head and no antennae. The Hasbro Goliath was way too skinny they made a while back. Looks like finally a big year for Legends! Tired of constantly issuing Spidey, Iron Man, and Cap figures. Lets
see Mangog, Cobra and Mr. Hyde, Melvin Potter’s Gladiator!

  8. I would definitely purchase this whole series, its totally solid, every figure. Ultron being the BAF makes it even better. Thoroughly impressed with this series

  9. Did anyone watch the interview at toy fair with Dwight stal and shartimus prime? Dwight is such a pos, he has such a snark attitude towards his fans.
