The Spider-Man Marvel Legends Rhino Series is one of my favorite Hasbro Marvel Legends 6″ series ever, as it’s filling in character gaps both vital (Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider, Chameleon) and ridiculously obscure. Now that we’ve hit the slow season between SDCC 2015 and NYCC 2015, it’s time to backtrack and discuss some upcoming items that I didn’t give their due to right away. And the biggest of those news items is the first major wave of Marvel Legends 2016 figures: the Marvel Legends Captain America Civil War wave! While Hasbro covered all their bases with the core movie Avengers by releasing a new movie-based Marvel Legends figure for each of the six main members of the Avengers, the new recruits (Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Vision) didn’t get the same treatment. Even so, the new comics-based Marvel Legends Vision figure is now available online and in some stores, and while he’s clearly not a replacement for a movie Vision, he’s a terrific figure nonetheless…

It had been quite a few years since Hasbro let fans have a direct say in a 6″ figure that gets produced in the Marvel Legends line, but last month, Hasbro broke their streak in grand fashion with a Marvel Legends Fan’s Choice Poll voting tournament which began at San Diego Comic-Con 2015! It was a real melee with fan-favorites like Cosmo, Lady Sif, The Hood and Quasar being eliminated early-on. But when the dust cleared after the finals, one figure reigned supreme and is now confirmed to be on the way: the first-ever Marvel Legends Angela figure!

Hasbro doesn’t believe in playing all of their cards at once at the biggest convention of the year, and that’s why–even though they’ve already shown off an amazing all-new wave of Spider-Man Legends figures and their panel is less than 24 hours away–Hasbro debuted three more all-new Marvel Legends figures on Friday at San Diego Comic-Con 2015! Tragically, in this day and age of early internet leaks, it’s getting harder and harder for toy companies to ever truly surprise collectors with reveals that are totally unexpected. On San Diego Comic-Con 2015 Preview Night, Hasbro debuted the Marvel Legends Walgreens exclusives that everyone had known about for months. And on Thursday–the first full day of the convention–Hasbro next debuting products turn out to be another lineup that avid fans already knew to expect–but man, what a lineup!
