Earlier this week, I had the tremendous honor and privilege of being one of the first collectors in the world to see a half-dozen of next year’s 6″ Marvel Legends 2017 figures at the pre-New York Comic Con 2016 Hasbro party (and yes, it was every bit as cool as it sounds). You can check out the dozens and dozens of first-person photos I took at NYCC 2016 here, but if you’ve been waiting for super hi-res official photos from Hasbro, images of four of the six new Marvel Legends figures have now been posted!

Marvel Minimates Squirrel Girl Figure & Tippy-Toe

Although there weren’t any new Marvel Select figures on display at NYCC 2016, that doesn’t mean that Diamond Select Toys didn’t bring some new Marvel toys to get excited about! In fact, two upcoming waves of Walgreens Exclusive Marvel Animated Minimates figures were on-hand with some characters that I think a lot of fans are going to be pretty stoked about, including modern Scarlet Spider, Anti-Venom, Speed Demon… and the first-ever Minimates Squirrel Girl figure!

NYCC 2016: Sideshow Venom & Carnage PF Statues!

Posted on by October 8, 2016

There was so much going on at New York Comic-Con 2016 yesterday that I almost managed to totally miss the two biggest (literally) Marvel reveals at the Sideshow Collectibles booth.

Luckily, obsessive-compulsion won out and I circled back to the booth to snap a multitude of hi-res photos of what are sure to be best-sellers: the Sideshow Venom and Carnage Premium Format Figure statues!

NYCC 2016: Marvel Legends Spider-Man 2017 Figures Photos!

Posted on by October 8, 2016

Hasbro held their annual ‘Twas The Night Before New York Comic-Con Party Wednesday night, and I had the great honor and privilege of attending and posting photos of impressions of the newly-revealed figures from the event earlier this week. But I mistakenly assumed readers were satiated on photos of the characters revealed at SDCC, which I now hear you guys are not! And so, here’s some of my best shots of Marvel Legends 2017 Spider-Man Wave 1…

Kotobukiya Vision Statue Close-Up NYCC 2016

Unlike past years, Kotobukiya didn’t bring any never-before-seen Marvel statues prototypes to New York Comic Con 2016 this week.

But while we didnt get to see anything totally unannounced at NYCC 2016, we did get to see several updated sculptures in person for the very first time at the event–including the Bishoujo Squirrel Girl and painted versions of the Super Deadpool ARTFX and Vision Fine Arts statues!

NYCC 2016 Marvel Legends Adam Warlock Figure Revealed

I probably sound a little bit smug regarding being unsurprised by the four figures I already posted about earlier tonight that Hasbro revealed at their pre-NYCC 2016 event tonight. But I have to admit, I definitely didn’t predict every figure Hasbro was going to unveil at New York Comic-Con. In fact, I’m ashamed to say I didn’t recognize one of the characters at all–the 2017 Marvel Legends Adam Warlock & Death’s Head II figures debuted tonight at NYCC 2016!

Marvel Legends 2017 Old Man Logan Figure

Alright, ‘fess up! Try as they might, Hasbro wasn’t able to keep the lid kept quite shut enough prior to SDCC 2016, and the lineup for the Marvel Legends 2017 X-Men wave ended up leaking out. So most of us knew the wave in advance of its announcement. But there were two figures on the leaked list who were absent at San Diego Comic-Con and still unconfirmed… until tonight! At the NYCC 2016 event tonight, Hasbro officially revealed the 2017 Marvel Legends Old Man Logan and Shatterstar figures!

NYCC 2016 Marvel Legends Shocker Figure Revealed

If you’re a regular reader, then you’ve probably heard me ramble endlessly about my certainty that the first Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2017 series of 6″ figures was bound to be rounded out by the long-awaited Marvel Legends Shocker and a non-sand form Sandman Build-A-Figure. And at the NYCC 2016 Hasbro press event tonight…? Yup, you guessed it–the confirmation of those very two figures finally arrived in prototype form!

Marvel Legends 2016 The Eel Figure Review

With the NYCC 2016 Hasbro Press Event taking place Wednesday night this week, we can expect some big Marvel toy news (hopefully) to be gracing us shortly! But what better way to run down the time until those big reveals than by taking a look at a character who surely must be one of this year’s most-demanded figures? Okay, okay, maybe that’s a bit of hyperbole–you can get the Marvel Legends Eel figure for below MSRP online right now. And yes–you absolutely should.

When Funko debuted their DC Rock Candy vinyl figures of Harley Quinn and Batgirl and such way back at New York Toy Fair 2016 in February, I wondered whether or not the line would be expanding to cover Marvel females as well. It took eight months, but on the eve of NYCC 2016, we finally have an answer: “Yes!” The first six Funko Marvel Rock Candy figures are now up for order, including Spider-Gwen, Lady Thor, She-Hulk and more!

Just when I thought we might be having another quiet week (I mean, other than that “New York Comic Con 2016” thing that coverage begins for tomorrow), a couple of long-awaited items have finally been solicited for release. Marvel Legends Space Venom Build-A-Figure Review (Spider-Man)

Marvel Legends 2016 Space Venom Build-A-Figure Review

Until Hasbro started cranking out symbiote figures over the last three years, I had forgotten just how many symbiote Spider-Man characters were out there. We’ve had both classic Venom and Agent Venom Marvel Legends figures released in the past two years, but the Build-A-Figure you get by buying all of Spider-Man Legends 2016 Wave 2 is even more recent (and a lot weirder) than the Agent iteration–it’s the Marvel Legends Venom Space Knight figure!

Close-Up of Captain Britain Legends Six Inch Figure

As the past few days have been exceptionally short on Marvel toy news (the world is in Star Wars mode–and so am I, over on Star Wars Toy News), but I’m back today with a fresh Marvel Legends 6″ figure review! Having covered all the most-requested Doctor Strange Legends figures, it’s time to shine the spotlight on the last wave of Captain America Legends! I’ve yet to see this figure in stores, but you can already snag him online for below MSRP–it’s the 2016 Marvel Legends Captain Britain figure!

September 2016 just may be some sort of unofficial Netflix Daredevil merch month, as after getting close to no collectibles released for the show this year, we’ve gotten a healthy dose of new toys announced in the past week! DST announced the Season 2 Minimates box set last week, with Hot Toys opening pre-orders for their fantastic Daredevil sixth scale figure to open this week. And now it’s time for the first high-end statue of the character: the Gentle Giant Netflix Daredevil mini-bust is now up for order!
