Ever since I saw them at the Funko booth at the New York Toy Fair 2015 back in February, visions of Vinyl Sugar Dorbz figures have danced in my head. I got my grubby hands on the debut figure in the first Marvel Collector Corps box, but today I received what I was really waiting for–my Guardians of the Galaxy Dorbz arrived from Entertainment Earth! All good things must come to an end, and I’ll be wrapping up the Marvel toys portion of my New York Toy Fair 2015 coverage over the next day or two. But before the end comes, there’s a few more things I want to talk about from the show. As we counted down the days to New York Toy Fair 2015, Funko started posting mysterious teaser images for Marvel vinyls labeled as “Vinyl Sugar Dorbz”. I had a hunch regarding exactly what this new imprint was, and at the 2015 Toy Fair Funko confirmed my suspicions.

A new line of 3″ vinyl Marvel figures is coming this year–and it’s kicking off with twenty-three 3″ Vinyl Sugar Dorbz Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy figures and two XL Dorbz!

Hot Toys doesn’t have the best track record of releasing major villains from many of the Marvel movies that they’ve manufactured toys for. We didn’t get a Hot Toys Malekith, or a Killian, or an Amazing Spider-Man 2 Green Goblin. We have a grand total of zero Hot Toys X-Men villains, and even Robert Redford couldn’t earn himself the chance to be immortalized in Hot Toys form. But while some big bads just don’t make the cut, there are others that are just too important to be ignored: the Hot Toys Thanos figure is now up for order!

Things didn’t work out that way. Against all odds and expectations, Hot Toys announced earlier this week that they would be debuting the insanely-anticipated Hot Toys Hulkbuster Iron Man and Thanos figures at the Hong Kong Toy Soul 2014 event this week.

We had to wait a couple hours for the event to officially begin before they were put on display, but Hot Toys was true to their word: the Hot Toys Thanos and Hulkbuster Iron Man sixth scale figures are in the house!
