Another of the portents of the apocalypse has come to fruition, as I’m talking about the Hasbro Marvel Titan Hero 12″ figures for the second day in a row. Marvel Titan Heroes aren’t my favorite line (not am I the target demographic), but a lot of people love them, so I want to feature them when I can. And a pretty star-studded series of Avengers Titan Hero figures have begun hitting stores this week, including Dr. Doom, Hawkeye and the Falcon!

Hulk is a unique character in that he doesn’t just change his costume–he changes his entire person when he changes into different forms of himself. But not content with the one-man-army of iterations of himself, Hulk has joined a super-team composed entirely of Hulk-related characters for a currently-airing animated series–“Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.”! The “Hulk and the Agents of SMASH” cartoon series has been running for almost a full year now and has had a successful run, and that means that Hasbro has finally deigned to give fans what they really want: toys! The first Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. figures and toys have now been released!

That’s for a couple of reasons, but primarily because the Hasbro Titan Heroes are aimed purely at children and I tend to dabble more in the collector-oriented, middle-to-high-end collectibles. That said, Hasbro has gotten my attention with their latest Ultimate Spider-Man Titan Hero figures released, because they made some very interesting character choices for a change–including the Miles Morales Ultimate Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2099!

There haven’t been many enticing Vinylmation sets released this year, and as a result my interest has waned quite a bit. But just when I thought I might be out, Disney has pulled me back in–with a vengeance! As a sequel to last year’s best-selling Disney Vinylmation Marvel Series 1 (which now sells for a crazy $250 for a set of 12 on the aftermarket), Disney has just unveiled a new set: the Marvel Vinylmation Spider-Man Series!
Continue Reading →This is going to sound like complete and utter blasphemy coming from me, but I was sort of hoping that there wasn’t going to be a SDCC 2014 LEGO Marvel exclusive this year. The San Diego Comic Con LEGO Marvel minifigure exclusives have traditionally been both difficult and extremely expensive to acquire, so I would have been just fine with LEGO forgoing any Comic-Con exclusive LEGO Marvel sets this year.
But with a week to go until Comic-Con, they just had to go and announce an exclusive I can’t live without–it’s the SDCC 2014 LEGO Rocket Raccoon’s Warbird set exclusive!

I went out yesterday afternoon specifically to see if my nearest Hallmart store had put out their ornaments early so that I could photograph the Marvel and LEGO ornaments. And while the 2014 Hallmark Ornaments were out early, I totally forgot to look at the Marvel ones–instead, I bought the Jawa Sandcrawler and Cantina Band ornaments. And so, today I journeyed back to Hallmark to check out the Hallmark Captain America & Spider-Man ornaments…

Not only will there be a Gentle Giant Rocket Raccoon Mini Bust and a Funko Flocked Rocket Raccoon POP! Vinyl as 2014 SDCC exclusives, but now an exclusive Rocket Raccoon plush toy, mug and Labbit have been announced as well!
Continue Reading →A couple days ago I declared that the Mighty Muggs Rom Space Knight figure was the most out-of-left-field exclusive for this month’s San Diego Comic Con 2014. Well, I stand by that original assessment.
But if there was a prize for second most out-of-left-field SDCC 2014 exclusive, it would probably go to UCC Distributing for an exclusive they’re partnered up with Marvel and Hasbro for. He’s cosplayed as Hulk, Wolverine, Thor, Captain America and Spider-Man–and this month you’ll be able to get your own 2014 SDCC Exclusive Deadpool Mr. Potato Head: Dead Peel!
Continue Reading →As far as unexpected, totally out-of-left-field exclusives go, Hasbro has just won San Diego Comic-Con 2014. Hands down. Unless you’ve been reading comics for three and a half decades (or grew up making semi-daily trips to the comic book store and buying old issues out of the bargain bins like me), you probably don’t have any clue who ROM The Space Knight even is. The robot form of ROM Space Knight hasn’t appeared in Marvel Comics in almost thirty years. But this month, ROM is back (sort of)–a Hasbro SDCC 2014 Exclusive ROM Space Knight Mighty Muggs figure is coming our way!
Continue Reading →I buy almost as many import anime toys as I do Marvel toys, so I’m pretty familiar with Japanese manufacturer Banpresto. In fact, they make some of my favorite static One Piece figures, including the detailed Grandline Men and Master Stars Piece lines. Banpresto is perhaps most famous, though, for their game center prize figures, including the World Collectible Figures (WCF). Usually the WCF line is reserved for anime and Japanese characters, but this fall Banpresto will bring Marvel into the WCF world–the Iron Man World Collectable Figures are now up for order!

Even if that was Disney’s intent, however, the time for secrets is past! At the 2014 E3 Expo this week, Disney officially revealed all the details for the Ultimate Spider-Man portion of Disney Infinity 2.0–including the Disney Infinity 2.0 figures of Venom, Iron Fist, Nova and more!
Continue Reading →It’s the toy collecting equivalent of the irresistible force meeting the unmovable object! I’ve been fiercely adamant in my stance that I was never going to pick up any of the Hasbro Marvel Super Hero Mashers figures, as I thought they were pretty much the most ludicrous thing ever the first time that I saw them.
But Hasbro has found my weakness, and has moved in to exploit it: Loki toys! The Marvel Mashers Loki and Doc Ock figures have now been released!

Figuarts Iron Man 3 figures to go up for pre-order. Well, it took a few more weeks than many fans would like, but the day is here. Bandai doesn’t have the rights to distribute these figures in America, so they’ll be a tad expensive, but they come with some very cool first edition exclusive extras! The S.H. Figuarts Iron Patriot and Iron Man Mark 42 figures are now up for order!
Continue Reading →Revoltech is one of the most renowned and frequently imported action figure lines in the world, so it was only a matter of time until they decided to expand into new areas. But instead of getting bigger, the Kaiyodo Revoltech line is getting smaller–with a new series of Revoltech Micro figures (called Revolmini)! Considering that Iron Man has been one of the most produced Revoltech figures ever, it was only a matter of time until a Revolmini Iron Man appeared. And that time has come–the RM-003 Revoltech Mini Iron Man Mark VI is now available for pre-order!
Continue Reading →We’ve had some pretty big reveals over the course of the month as far as this year’s San Diego Comic Con 2014 exclusives go, but now it’s time to step back and talk about some exclusives that a bit smaller–both in size and in hype. Among the hundreds (it feels like thousands) of SDCC exclusives, not all of them are for us hardcore collectors. Such is the case with NECA’s thus far only announced Marvel SDCC 2014 exclusive– NECA Scalers Spider-Man and Iron Man!
