Ordinarily there’s a bit of a Marvel toy news lull after San Diego Comic-Con, but that doesn’t seem to be the case this year! Not only has Hot Toys blitzed us with some outstanding new sixth scale figures this week, but now Disney is launching their own line of near-sixth scale Marvel Ultimate Series Premium Figures! Their 10″ Black Widow figure isn’t too bad, but that Marvel “Ultimate Series” Captain America action figure… oh dear…

While their awe-inspiring sixth scale Giant-Man diorama was plainly available to be photographed for the world to see yesterday during the setup for ACGHK 2016, there was one item Hot Toys was literally hiding until the start of the show!
He was obscured via being covered with a mystic sheet of cloth yesterday, but no longer: the Hot Toys Doctor Strange sixth scale figure has now been revealed!

With San Diego Comic-Con 2016 having been last week and two new Iron Man sixth scale figures having been put up for order just yesterday, you might think that Hot Toys would have already played all of their cards for the time being. But ACGHK 2016 is occurring in Hong Kong this weekend, and Hot Toys has a giant-sized surprise on-hand for collectors: a humongous Hot Toys Giant-Man sixth scale figure is on display on the show–and man, “giant” is not hyperbole in this case…!

Most companies might be content to just out one several hundred-dollar Iron Man sixth scale figure up for sale the same week as their first three Suicide Squad 1/6 figures and pair of Back to the Future II figures.
But Hot Toys is not “most” companies, and they don’t do things in half measures. And this isn’t just any old Iron Man, it’s one of the most-requested remaining upgrades: the Hot Toys Die-Cast Iron Man Mark VI figure is now up for order!

Just when I thought that Hot Toys had already hustled movie Iron Man fanboys (like myself) for every possible dollar, they go and come up with something totally out of left field like this! Though we’ve seen this exact Hot Toys Iron Man Mark VII armor released as a sixth scale figure no less than four times before, the unique look of the fifth time is going to be another guaranteed purchase from a lot of collectors. The Sideshow Exclusive Hot Toys Iron Man Sub-Zero Mark VII figure is now up for order!

Over the weekend I talked about a trio of new Kotobukiya Marvel statues that unexpectedly debuted at SDCC 2016 last week–but I didn’t talk about the statues we were expecting to see that were revealed there. Such is the case with a piece I was skeptical about–right up until I saw it. It might be one of the very best (and most classy) additions to the Marvel Bishoujo line yet: the 1/7 Kotobukiya Lady Thor Bishoujo statue is now up for order!

Hasbro is making a lot of people’s dreams come true with the 2017 Marvel Legends X-Men figures series that they announced tonight at San Diego Comic-Con 2016. Hasbro has clearly begun employing telepathic spies to reach into my mind and suss out exactly what my biggest Marvel Legends hopes and dreams are, because at tonight’s Hasbro panel they didn’t just officially announce the X-Men Marvel Legends 2017 wave with Jim Lee Cyclops, Polaris, Sunfire, Colossus and more–they also announced a Marvel Legends Warlock Build-A-Figure!! In a few hours we’ll have proverbial longboxes filled with new Marvel toy news and photos to share from the Hasbro Marvel SDCC 2016 panel. But in the meantime, there’s some other companies whose reveals from San Diego Comic-Con 2016 deserve attention, and one of those companies is Kotobukiya! Along with the expected debuts of Bishoujo Loki and Lady Thor and the Spider-Man ARTFX+ Series, Koto also unveiled two totally unexpected surprises: the Kotobukiya Vision Fine Arts Statue and Squirrel Girl Bishoujo!

The second full day of San Diego Comic-Con 2016 is in the books, and while Hasbro was more into promoting Star Wars today than Marvel, that doesn’t mean that they didn’t have some big Marvel reveals today as well!
And by “big”, I’m talking 12 inches of Wade Wilson goodness! That’s right, the Marvel Legends 12″ Deadpool figure is the fourth figure in this year’s new sixth scale series!

Hasbro hit home run after home run today with their SDCC 2016 reveals, but there’s one Marvel Legends 6″ figure wave that’s not getting quite as much love as the others. Hasbro unveiled the second half of their Doctor Strange Marvel Legends series today, with movie and comic-based Doctor Strange figures and the first-ever major Mordo figure! Does this wave deserve more fanfare than it’s gotten so far?

And the Hasbro Marvel Legends SDCC 2016 news keeps right on coming! While I was watching the Marvel Live Stream earlier today while writing another post, what should appear on my screen but the first three Marvel Legends 2017 figures! I was watching the Marvel Live Stream myself and screen-capping these figures as they appeared, so if you borrow my images to share–credit us, please. (Or not. It’s up to you.) Regardless, we got our first look at the goodness coming our way in 2017: Marvel Legends Angela, Disco Dazzler and Sam Alexander Kid Nova!

Not wanting to blow its proverbial load of Marvel Legends goodness all in one night, Hasbro has been spacing out its reveals for the convention and unveiling new figures a few at a time! And this morning, Hasbro gave press their very first look at a lineup of figures that retailer UPC lists had leaked a few months back. But even if we knew they were coming, they’re still goodies–it’s the Marvel Legends Spider-Man 2016 Wave 3, including Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan, All-New Spider-Man 2099, Spider-UK, the Jackal and more!
