San Diego Comic-Con 2016 is fast approaching, and while Hot Toys doesn’t bring any exclusives with them to the show, their Summer Toy Fairs Exclusives are always available for order prior to it.
And as has been the case for the last few years, this year’s limited exclusive will be an Iron Man 3 House Party Protocol armor–and this time, it’s my favorite remaining armor: the exclusive Hot Toys Disco Iron Man figure is now up for order!

Even with SDCC 2016 looming, the King of Exclusives–Funko–never slows down on any front! And so, last night Funko sent out an E-Mail to Marvel Collector Corps Founders (those who signed up for a one-year subscription to MCC before the first box and have remained active members) announcing a big surprise: the biggest Collector Corps box ever (with the same cost as five smaller Funko MCC boxes)! Read on for my thoughts and the known details on the Funko Marvel Collector Corps Year One Super Box that goes up for order today…

It looks like old saying that goes “good things come to those that wait” is about the be proven once again. The Diamond Select Toys Captain America Civil War Marvel Select figures were announced and put up for pre-order in the winter and revealed at New York Toy Fair 2016 in February. It’s been a long five months since that’s included the movie coming (and going) in theaters, but the time is now upon us: the Marvel Select Civil War figures are expected to ship later this month and DST has now shared packaged photos!

The wait is almost over, and the biggest comic book and collectibles event of 2016 is almost here: San Diego Comic-Con 2016 begins just two weeks from tomorrow! At this point, we’ve known most of the exclusive for the event for at least a week… but not all of them! Gentle Giant Ltd. had been holding their cards pretty close to their vest, but their trio of Marvel SDCC 2016 Exclusives now stands revealed: an Animated Rocket Raccoon statue, a Secret Wars Spider-Gwen Micro-Bobbles, and… some crazy-colored Deadpools including neon green Deadpool?!

From what I’ve been hearing both from retailers and fellow collectors, it sounds like the X-Men Marvel Legends 2016 Series may be far and away the fastest-selling and hottest Hasbro Marvel Legends series ever. And so, since many fans seem to have an insatiable appetite for hearing more about this wave, today let’s take a look at some in-hand photos and impressions of the new Marvel Legends Iceman and Juggernaut Build-A-Figure…

There’s no question about it: the Hasbro Marvel Legends 6″ figure line is the single hottest Marvel toy line in existence today. But even amongst this sales juggernaut’s selections, there are figures more hyped and anticipated than almost any others. And one of them happens to be the first-released articulated MCU Spider-Man action figure ever! The Marvel Legends Civil War 3-Pack Spider-Man has now been released, and we can see in these photos that the hype was warranted!

Despite the fact that Marvel has become one of the hottest brands on the planet, Funko has only created a handful of San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Marvel POP Vinyls figures for the last few years of the event. But 2016 is going to be different! Though they haven’t quite finished unveiled all of their goodies for the show just yet, Funko has already revealed four Marvel SDCC 2016 exclusive POP Vinyls (and a quartet of Dorbz)!

I am not a quarter-scale figure collector. With the sheer number of toys and collectibles I buy each year, I discovered that if I buy a lot of 1/4 scale figures, I quickly begin to run out of space. But there are exceptions to every rule, and I’m about to have to make one. If there’s one Iron Man armor permutation I have a serious soft spot for, it’s the derpy Mark XLII armor from Iron Man 3. And now, it’s coming to quarter-scale in high-end figure form: the Hot Toys 1/4 Iron Man Mark 42 figure goes up for order today!

Funko is rolling out their list of exclusives in thrice-weekly announcements and Hasbro is expected to officially announce its San Diego Comic-Con 2016 exclusives next week (although at this point we all basically know what they are anyway), but in the meantime, a few other toy companies are filling in their own Comic-Con blanks. And this week, Beast Kingdom announced what’s likely to take the cake as the craziest SDCC 2016 exclusive of all: a 24K Gold Hulkbuster Iron Man figure!

What with how Hasbro has to-date only revealed two of the six figures in the 2016 Marvel Legends Captain America Wave 3 officially, it’s no surprise they haven’t shown off the Marvel Legends Abomination Build-A-Figure yet at all. Even so, this wave is now hitting overseas and finding its way into collectors’ hands–which means that we’re now getting our first good look at the figures in the series out of their packaging and the completed Abomination figure…

Hasbro has seemingly entered a strange and terrifying new era this year wherein literally the first time we’ve seen numerous new Marvel Legends 6″ figures is when they’ve already been released overseas and packaged photos have leaked out. Such is the case with the Marvel Legends Civil War Wave 3 photos that popped up online today, which not only let us see some characters for the first time–it confirms characters like Marvel Legends Wonder Man and Eel we weren’t even sure were coming!

From being a chef and a cowboy to choking a rubber chicken and coming out of the bath with a rubber ducky, Funko Deadpool has done pretty much everything there is to do. Everything there is to do, except… dressing up for a hot date and a night on the town! Thankfully, Funko is now rectifying this grievous oversight with their latest release: the Exclusive Funko Dressed to Kill Deadpool POP Vinyl and Dorbz figures are now up for order!

Just like last year, this year’s major Avengers-centric Marvel Cinematic Universe film is being followed up by a movie debuting a Marvel character that’s a little less popular in mainstream culture than Captain America, Iron Man and Spider-Man. So yeah, in case you didn’t hear–a Doctor Strange movie is coming our way this November. And that means we’ll be seeing more Doctor Strange toys released than ever before, including these entries just revealed by Diamond Select Toys: the Marvel Gallery Doctor Strange Statue and Dr. Strange Minimiates are now up for order!

We’re now under one month out from San Diego Comic-Con 2016, and that means it’s time for all remaining Marvel toy licensees to put their cards on the table and show off their SDCC 2016 exclusives!
In Kotobukiya’s case, I really wasn’t sure what to expect from the Bishoujo line–but I can promise I didn’t see this exclusive coming: the Kotobukiya SDCC 2016 exclusive Lady Deadpool Bisjoujo statue!

Having grossed over a billion dollars at the worldwide box office thus far, it’s easy to assert that Captain America: Civil War has been the blockbuster success it was intended to be. What hasn’t been so easy, however, is finding collector-level Civil War toys in retail stores thus far. But while the Marvel Legends 6″ figures are still few and far between at retail, at least some new movie toys are making it out: the Toys R Us exclusive Marvel Legends 2-Packs containing Black Panther, Agent 13, and comic-based Iron Man and Captain America have now been released!
