Those types of villainous characters typically evoke no sympathy at all and are flat-out boring to read about. Usually. But there’s an exception to every rule–and in this case, his name is Carnage! The 90’s are back in style, and Carnage is finally getting more long-deserved merch in 2015. Well, this is new. We’ve learned about Marvel Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Series sixth scale figures in a variety of ways before, but I am reasonably sure that this is the first time a new Hot Toys Marvel figure has ever been revealed via… small sticker on the front of a Japanese Blu-Ray (does that make the X-Men Days of Future Past Blu-Ray a must for Hot Toys collectors? I wonder…). The Hot Toys X-Men Days of Future license was announced way back in 2013, and it looks like in 2015 Hot Toys may actually have a figure lined up for us–the Hot Toys Days of Future Past Wolverine figure!

Funko didn’t get quite as much money from Marvel POP! Vinyls collectors at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 as they would have liked (with Flocked Rocket Raccoon POP Vinyl being the only SDCC 2014 Marvel POP Vinyls exclusive), but they’re making up for missed chances (and dollars!) on the fall 2014 convention circuit. A few weeks back the NYCC 2014 Funko Frost Giant Loki POP Vinyls debuted, and now the Comikaze 2014 exclusives have been announced: Funko POP Vinyls Glow-in-the-Dark Storm and Unmasked Captain America!

And oftentimes, I love Funko exclusives a whole lot more than I do their regular releases. But sometimes, Funko comes up with an exclusive that is just unspeakably lame. In my eyes, Marvel Studios can just about do no wrong. But if they could do wrong, that wrong would likely be called “Thor The Dark World”. While I didn’t think that “Thor The Dark World” was bad, per se, it was definitely the lowest-quality Marvel Studios movie released thus far. Even so, there are three things I love about “Thor The Dark World” (in this order): Natalie Portman, Loki, and Thor’s new costume. Though I would have preferred the other two, Sideshow has crafted a killer new statue for one of these aspects: the Sideshow Exclusive Thor The Dark World Premium Format Figure goes up for order this week!

Poor Yondu gets no respect. Hasbro passed him by for the Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy series. There’s no Hot Toys Yondu figure in the works, nor is there a LEGO Yondu minifigure on the way. Even Funko opted to leave Yondu out of the first series of Funko Guardians of the Galaxy POP! Vinyls figures. But finally, Yondu is about to get his due! Today, Disney announced that a Disney Infinity Yondu figure is in development, and Yondu will be a playable character in the Disney Infinity 2.0 Marvel video game!

If you’re like me (and you must be at least a little bit like me, or you wouldn’t be on this blog reading this post), you were woefully disappointed that no developer stepped up to bat to create a Guardians of the Galaxy video game to coincide with the blockbuster movie’s release. (Movie tie-in video games are almost always duds, mind you, but it would have been nice nonetheless.) But fear not, fellow Guardians of the Galaxy fanatics! Disney themselves is going to fill the void and give us the Guardians of the Galaxy gaming action we’ve been craving–and toys to go with it! A couple weeks back I reviewed the 2014 X-Men Marvel Legends Cyclops figure. That 6″ Cyclops figure had its share of flaws and failed to impress me, but Hasbro had one other Cyclops figure lined up for this year: the previously-canceled Marvel Universe Astonishing Cyclops figure.

I had high enough hopes for this long-delayed 4″ figure that I didn’t mind ordering Cyclops online, but ultimately the Marvel Infinite Series Cyclops figure ended up disappointing me as well…
