We’re just under a month away from New York Comic Con 2014 now–but you sure wouldn’t know it from the lack of any major Marvel NYCC 2014 exclusives being announced! As usual, however, if there’s one company we can count on to deliver exclusives, it’s Funko! Today, Funko officially announced the two Marvel Funko POP! Vinyls Frost Giant Loki NYCC 2014 exclusive figures!

In the original 2011 “Thor” movie by Marvel Studios, Loki learns the shocking secret of his parentage: the fact that he’s only the adopted son of Odin, and is actually a Frost Giant by blood. Plot twist!

As a Frost Giant, Loki’s natural form is to have blue skin and haunting red eyes. I was wondering when some company would get around to producing collectibles showing off Loki’s Frost Giant side (an easiest of the easy repaint), and now that day has finally come! Not surprisingly, the company that’s giving us that Loki is the most variant-crazy company of all: Funko. And even less unexpected is the fact that the Funko POP Vinyls Frost Giant Loki figure is going to be a convention exclusive for NYCC 2014.

And hey, one good repaint deserves another, right? So in addition to the plain old NYCC 2014 Frost Giant Loki Funko POP Vinyls figure being released at the event, an even more limited Glow-in-the-Dark Frost Giant Loki variant will also be available! Sometimes the “glow” on these vinyl figures works really well and sometimes it doesn’t, but I’m always a sucker for a glow-in-the-dark Loki figure!

As with most of their Funko exclusives, Fugitive Toys is expected to pre-sell small quantities of the Loki Frost Giant Funko POP Vinyls on their website in the weeks leading up to NYCC 2014. So if you’re not attending the show (or don’t want to fight the insane mob of fans surrounding the Fugitive Toys booth), you might want to stalk the Fugitive Toys website for the next month.
