Although he’s one of the few members of the Avengers without no superpowers whatsoever, Hawkeye is about as classic as Avengers come. And not only is Hawkeye a favorite character of Avengers fans, but Clint Barton is also a favorite character for high-end companies to produce collectibles of. And now the collecting community darling XM Studios is ready to take their crack at the beloved archer: the 27″ XM Studios Hawkeye Premium Collectible Statue is now up for order!

I like Hawkeye–but I don’t love him (outside of Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye comic book series). So the prospect of me buying a $700 Hawkeye statue is pretty unrealistic. But if I were going to buy a Hawkeye statue for the better part of a thousand dollars…? The XM Studios Hawkeye 1/4 Statue would be the one.

The Singapose-based XM Studios has literally appeared out of nowhere over the course of the last year and suddenly become one of the Marvel collectibles producers with more buzz than almost any other company. They’re creating comic version statues of all six of the core movie Avengers members, and the fifth of the six to be released will be Hawkeye (with Thor last, for those wondering).

Hawkeye statues where ol’ Hawkguy is aiming his bow and arrow are nothing new–Bowen Designs has done a Hawkeye statue like this, Gentle Giant has done one (with a humongous Sky Cycle accessory), and there’s even a Sideshow Premium Format Hawkeye statue in a similar stance. Aiming a bow is the most logical and natural choice for a statue of Hawkeye, after all.

But while XM Studios’ Hawkeye statue concept is far from original, they’ve put a level of quality and intricate detailing into this quarter-scale Hawkeye statue that annihilates every Hawkeye statue to come before it.

And not only is this the most detailed Hawkeye high-end collectible ever made, It’s also the tallest! The 1:4 Hawkeye XM Studios statue stands a mighty 27″ tall–that’s over two feet tall!

Hawkeye can be positioned either on the “high ground” or the “low ground” of the base, depending upon if you want to display him alongside his fellow Avengers statues or above them. That’s a neat idea, and honestly not one I can remember seeing before on a high-end Marvel statue!

But wait–there’s more options! This Marvel Premium Collectibles XM Studios Hawkeye statue features two interchangeable left arms–one wielding a classic bow, and the other holding a modern bow! There’s also three interchangeable arrowheads, bringing the total number of possible display options for this statue to an even dozen! Crazy!

The downside to this–and every XM Studios Marvel statue so far–is the enormous price-tag. Hawkeye is touting an MSRP of SGD $799.90–over $630 US! Add in import and shipping fees for a huge cold-cast porcelain statue, and you’re looking at $700+. Yowza.

The quarter-scale XM Studios Hawkeye statue should be up for pre-order on BBTS in the next few days, and is scheduled to be released in 2015. XM Studios Marvel statues legit sell out almost instantly once they’re listed on import sites, so stay alert if you want to own one of the 800 pieces worldwide of this statue being produced.
