Hasbro and Kaiyodo have been playing a little game of one-upmanship with the X-Men over the last year, with both companies releasing competing 6” Psylocke and yellow Wolverine figures in rapid succession to each other. Bandai’s SH Figuarts Black Panther came and went earlier this year with a sprinkle of collector enthusiasm, but as solid as it was—it wasn’t quite perfect. No T’Challa Unmasked Head, no weapons for Black Panther to wield, proportions looking a smidge off, and a teeny bit too small for Marvel Legends. Erick Sosa has sculpted some of Kotobukiya’s most legendary pieces over the past half decade-plus, including the ultra-popular X-Men Danger Room Sessions series of resin statues and the grail-like Spider-Man and Venom Fine Arts statues. But last month, an era came to an end when Sosa announced he was leaving Koto.
