Tragedy stuck last week when the February 2017 Funko Marvel Collector Corps box I ordered arrived at my doorstep less than a day after I left for New York Toy Fair 2017. Oh, the humanity!! …Okay, that’s probably a bit of hyperbole, but it was a disappointment to me to not be home to do an unboxing myself for the first time ever when a new Funko subscription box arrived. With five of the seven Kotobukiya Spider-Man ARTFX+ statues currently up for order, I was hoping that Koto would surprise us by debuting the two final figures in the line at New York Toy Fair 2016 over the weekend.

Well, I guess one out of two ain’t bad–we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see the prototype of the Venom ARTFX+ statue, but the Kotobukiya Spider-Man 2099 statue has now been revealed!

Ordinarily I don’t like to throw around arbitrary awards like “Best in the Show” for the various conventions and events where collectibles companies show off their latest products, but there was one company at New York Toy Fair 2017 that really “wow”-ed me like never before, and that was Diamond Select Toys. Not only did Diamond Select bring surprise additions to their long-running Marvel Select series, but they also debuted over a dozen new Marvel statues at the show and really cemented themselves as a force in the Marvel statue world. And among those new reveals were their first-ever MCU PVC statues: the Marvel Gallery Guardians of the Galaxy statues!

Just when I thought it was safe to go to bed, Hasbro sent out even more images of upcoming 2017 Marvel Legends figures that weren’t on display today at New York Toy Fair 2017! These don’t come as entirely a surprise, as I already saw these figures during the Hasbro Media Event slideshow this afternoon, but we weren’t allowed to photograph the figures at the event. But hey, maybe that’s for the best, because there’s no way our meager photography could look nearly as good as these hi-res official photos of the 2017 Marvel Legends Human Torch, Mary Jane and Ultimate Vulture vs. Spider-Man sets!
