We’ve reached the latter half of October 2016, and that means it’s time for another round of Diamond Select Toys solicitations! Occasionally Marvel items are absent altogether from these solicitations, but that’s not the case this month.

Instead, two hotly-desired new items have now been officially announced: the Diamond Select Toys Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Minimates and Marvel Gallery Jessica Jones Statue are now up for order!

Funko Marvel Collector Corps X-Men Box Announced!

x-men-marvel-collector-corps-december-2016-box

When Funko made a huge deal out of the upcoming expansion of their X-Men toys range–including NYCC Exclusives and all-new packaging for the Dorbz series–I had a feeling the X-Men would finally appear in a certain subscription box sooner than later. And that intuition has borne fruit–the Funko Marvel Collector Corps X-Men Box is now up for order! What exclusives do I think might be in it?

Marvel Legends Wonder Man 6″ Figure Review & Photos (2016)

Marvel Legends Abomination Series Wonder Man Energy Effects Accessories

While I was spelunking into my huge box of Marvel action figures that still need to be reviewed today, I discovered that lo and behold, I had unwittingly reviewed all of the final wave of Captain America Marvel Legends 2016 6″ figures but one. And as the remaining character continued a near-iconic member of the Avengers by many, I figure I might as well finish the job. If you haven’t seen him locally (and I sure haven’t), he’s available for MSRP online with free shipping–it’s the 2016 Marvel Legends Wonder Man figure!

Marvel Legends Secret War Captain America Review & Photos 2016

Marvel Legends Secret War Captain America Review

I feel sort of bad about how hard I was ragging on the Iron Skull figure yesterday, so today’s review is going to cover a new iteration of a classic character that I think worked out much, much better for Hasbro.

He’s not even available in most stores yet, but he’s still selling for below MSRP and free shipping online. Even so, the Marvel Legends Secret War Captain America is a surprisingly fantastic new 6″ Captain America figure…

Marvel Legends Iron Skull Red Skull Review & Photos

Red Skull Head on Iron Skull Marvel Legends Action Figure

If you’ve ever seen a new costume or character design and instantly knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that it had been created solely for the purpose of cashing in with merch, you know exactly how I feel about the Iron Skull.

But while the intent of the Iron Red Skull concept itself is dubious, that doesn’t mean it can’t spawn some cool toys. And today I’ll be looking at the latest Iron Skull action figure to go up for sale–the 6″ Captain America Marvel Legends Iron Skull!

NYCC 2016: eFX Marvel Movie Prop Replicas Photos!

NYCC 2016 eFX Ant-Man Helmets Prop Replicas

I was about to officially close the book on my New York Comic Con 2016 coverage when I realized there was one booth I had taken a bunch of photos at and not talked about yet.

These items are quite a bit pricier than the usual “Marvel toys” I talk about here because they’re the highest of high-end MCU collectibles–the eFX Collectibles Marvel movie prop replicas!

For reasons most of us are aware of, the last years have been rather quiet for X-Men toys. But the world, it is a-changin’! The stonewalling of X-Men merch is coming to an end, and the flood of new toys is beginning! Hasbro released a Marvel Legends X-Men set this summer and has another slated for 2017, Kotobukiya has teased more X-Men, and Funko not only has more POP and Dorbz X-Men on the way–a whole Funko X-Men Mystery Minis series has now been revealed!

Ever waited so long for a toy after its initial reveal that you almost–almost–think that it’s never coming out at all? Such is the case with the latest Hot Toys Marvel Movie Masterpiece Series figure, which was first revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 (yes, 2014). It’s been a surprisingly long and dubious road, but the Iron Man House Party Protocol is about to get a little bigger: the exclusive Hot Toys Blue Steel Iron Man is now up for order!

Marvel Legends Hobgoblin Review & Photos! Hasbro 2016

Close-Up of Marvel Legends Spider-Man Hobgoblin Head

Hasbro has been cranking out whole waves of Marvel Legends Spider-Man figures for years now, so you would think that we’d have plenty of Hobgoblin figures by now, right…? Well… no. In fact, Hasbro has never released a classic 6″ Marvel Legends Hobgoblin figure until this summer’s Space Venom series! I’ve yet to see even a single figure from this entire wave in a store, but Hobby is sporadically available for MSRP online. Is this the definitive 6″ Hobgoblin Marvel Legends figure we’ve been waiting for?

NYCC 2016: Mezco Marvel ONE:12 Collective Figures!

NYCC 2016 Deadpool ONE:12 Collective Figure

I’ve already talked about all the traditional heavy-hitters like Hasbro, Kotobukiya and Diamond Select Toys who revealed new Marvel toys at New York Comic-Con 2016, but there’s one more company I wanted to shine the spotlight on.

2016 may be the very first year that Mezco Toyz is releasing Marvel action figures, but their display case full of Marvel ONE:12 Collective figures–including Deadpool and Spider-Man–was a real thing of beauty…

Marvel Legends 2017 Figures Official Photos! Shatterstar! Sandman!

marvel-legends-2017-sandman-build-a-figure

Earlier this week, I had the tremendous honor and privilege of being one of the first collectors in the world to see a half-dozen of next year’s 6″ Marvel Legends 2017 figures at the pre-New York Comic Con 2016 Hasbro party (and yes, it was every bit as cool as it sounds). You can check out the dozens and dozens of first-person photos I took at NYCC 2016 here, but if you’ve been waiting for super hi-res official photos from Hasbro, images of four of the six new Marvel Legends figures have now been posted!

NYCC 2016: Marvel Minimates Figures! Squirrel Girl!

Marvel Minimates Squirrel Girl Figure & Tippy-Toe

Although there weren’t any new Marvel Select figures on display at NYCC 2016, that doesn’t mean that Diamond Select Toys didn’t bring some new Marvel toys to get excited about! In fact, two upcoming waves of Walgreens Exclusive Marvel Animated Minimates figures were on-hand with some characters that I think a lot of fans are going to be pretty stoked about, including modern Scarlet Spider, Anti-Venom, Speed Demon… and the first-ever Minimates Squirrel Girl figure!

NYCC 2016: Sideshow Venom & Carnage PF Statues!

There was so much going on at New York Comic-Con 2016 yesterday that I almost managed to totally miss the two biggest (literally) Marvel reveals at the Sideshow Collectibles booth.

Luckily, obsessive-compulsion won out and I circled back to the booth to snap a multitude of hi-res photos of what are sure to be best-sellers: the Sideshow Venom and Carnage Premium Format Figure statues!

NYCC 2016: Marvel Legends Spider-Man 2017 Figures Photos!

Hasbro held their annual ‘Twas The Night Before New York Comic-Con Party Wednesday night, and I had the great honor and privilege of attending and posting photos of impressions of the newly-revealed figures from the event earlier this week. But I mistakenly assumed readers were satiated on photos of the characters revealed at SDCC, which I now hear you guys are not! And so, here’s some of my best shots of Marvel Legends 2017 Spider-Man Wave 1…

NYCC 2016: Kotobukiya Vision Deadpool & Squirrel Girl Statues!

Kotobukiya Vision Statue Close-Up NYCC 2016

Unlike past years, Kotobukiya didn’t bring any never-before-seen Marvel statues prototypes to New York Comic Con 2016 this week.

But while we didnt get to see anything totally unannounced at NYCC 2016, we did get to see several updated sculptures in person for the very first time at the event–including the Bishoujo Squirrel Girl and painted versions of the Super Deadpool ARTFX and Vision Fine Arts statues!
