Sad but true: judging by the super-fast way that many stores clearanced it out after only having it stocked for a few weeks, the very cool 12″ Marvel Legends Deadpool figure was not the retail savior of the Marvel Legends 12″ line that we all hoped for. Luckily, the line still has four more entries in it to turn its 2017 around! 12″ Daredevil, Thor and (14″) Hulk won’t be out until later in the summer, but the next character in the series has arrived: the Exclusive Marvel Legends 12″ Symbiote Spider-Man!

Way back in February, when Hasbro started teasing the Marvel Legends Spider-Man Homecoming figures series, one of the very first items that we got to see was the new Marvel Legends Homecoming Iron Man Mark 47 figure. Earlier this month, to the delight of thousands of high-end Spidey collectors worldwide, Hot Toys finally put their classic-ish red-and-blue Spider-Man Homecoming figure up for order. At the time, while Hot Toys announced that an unmasked Peter Parker Tom Holland portrait would be included, the sculpt was still unapproved and blurred out at the time. When Hasbro officially announced that the Marvel Legends Spider-Man Homecoming Build-A-Figure built by buying the whole wave wasn’t going to be a figure at all–but rather the movie Vulture’s Flight Pack wings–tons of collectors called foul (no, not “fowl”–vultures aren’t fowl). After all, the series “Build-A-Figure” being an accessory was unheard of in Marvel Legends. Ever since we found out that Spider-Man would officially be in the Captain America: Civil War movie close to two years ago, fans have been drooling over the prospect of a new 12″ Hot Toys MCU Spider-Man in his movie costume. We didn’t get a Civil War version for licensing reasons, and the first Homecoming Spidey turned out to be the neat-o–but definitely not classic–Homemade Suit Version.
