In a world where Luke Cage and Iron Fist have both appeared in multiple major streaming series—and even each had their own individual ones—one might think we’d be swimming in action figures for these genuine Marvel legends. We are not. In fact, it’s been several years since any Iron Fist figure was available, and Hasbro has never released a non-exclusive modern Power Man figure at all. But as part of this year’s celebratory Marvel Legends 85th Anniversary Series, we’re getting updated figures of Luke Cage and Danny Rand, sold as a pair by Hasbro for the first time ever! Are these heroes worth hiring for -your-shelf? Let’s take a look…
Modern Luke Cage figures have previously been released in SDCC and Amazon Exclusive multi-figure sets, but those figures are both outdated and a bit expensive to get at this point. We got a (disappointing) classic Power Man in the Marvel Knights Mindless One wave last year, and now it’s time for a new and improved modern Power Man in his costume best known from his New Avengers days.
Along with the outstanding Omega Red upper body, Cage is sporting new arms and legs that look great. I’m a big fan of the new pants sculpt. As you’d hope, Power Man is all pin-less here and even comes with open and closed mouth portraits (both looking appropriately angry to me).
I dig his “LUKE CAGE” brass knuckles too. This will be a definitive modern Luke Cage figure for many collectors.
The new Iron Fist Legends figure is also exceptional, although perhaps not the iconic iteration of the character. A large swath of fans were hoping for the recognizable V-style shirt for Danny, but we get a lesser-known, more open-styled shirt here.
Hasbro isn’t making this look up—Iron Fist did sport it in some classic runs and even occasionally in recent years (including in the 2021 Iron Fist Heart of the Dragon series, as shown above)—but it’s definitely not the most desirable costume for the character.
That said, the Iron Fist toy itself is excellent, even if the chosen design won’t be the ideal one for every fan out there. Fully pin-less and featuring double ab crunches and poseable toes (like the Renew Your Vows Spider-Man), this is a supremely articulated martial artist. Even if this isn’t the most iconic costume for this character, I’m glad that the big collar is itself present for this design.
We get stoic and yelling heads for Iron Fist, along with multiple effects pieces and a large assortment of hands. I wish the effects were pink, but the fiery colors work okay too for this character. With this generous spread of accessories, a near-endless variety of poses can be achieved.
The 2024 Marvel Legends Iron Fist & Power Man two-pack is now up for pre-order and is expected to arrive in late summer. With a $49.99 MSRP, this is fairly priced the same as two individual ML 6” figures (but with purchasing as a pair required).
What do you think, Marvel collectors? Do these new Luke and Danny figures do enough to earn your dollars?

I’m all about a classic look Iron Fist, and this does come oh so close.
