When Funko only brought hand-painted samples of half of this year’s wave of comic-based Marvel POP Vinyls figures to New York Toy Fair last month–and just concept artwork of the other half–I figured we were probably several months away from seeing this new assortment of Marvel POPs placed up for grabs. Hot Toys missed the target slightly with their first Hawkeye MMS, and while it was loaded with accessories, the long-sleeved AOU Hawkeye just isn’t an iconic version for the shelf. But the third time appears to be the charm, and it looks like the best is coming later this year: the Hot Toys Civil War Hawkeye is now up for order!

I went to bed early last night, got a good night’s sleep and got up bright and sunny this morning–because today was the day the last of the announced mass-release Funko Civil War POP Vinyls was finally scheduled to hit stores! But I quickly hit a snag this morning, when I discovered that all of my local Gamestops–who insisted they wouldn’t take reservations–had decided to reserve out all of their received Giant-Man POPs. Thankfully, my wife was sweet enough to zip over to the closest Gamestop to her job and nab me the last 6″ Funko Giant-Man POP Vinyl! Was the big-guy worth all the trouble?

At this time last year, I was still whining about how Kotobukiya hadn’t even brought unpainted prototypes of any of their Marvel Now X-Men ARTFX+ statues series to New York Toy Fair 2015. I thought the timing of Mezco Toyz teasing their upcoming 1/12 Deadpool and Spider-Man figures this morning was a bit peculiar, what with none of the Marvel ONE:12 Collective figures for this year that we’ve preciously seen even being available for order yet. As much faith as I have in most of Hasbro’s Marvel toy lines, if there’s one Hasbro Marvel action figure line I wouldn’t buy based solely off the official photos, it’s the Titan Hero Series. So even though the Civil War Titan Hero Falcon and War Machine figures went up for order online a few days ago, there was no way I was picking them up without seeing them in person. But to my delight, I saw both 12″ figures locally today–and they may be the best Titan Heroes ever!

One of the hands-down biggest surprises for me at last month’s New York Toy Fair 2016 was how much I liked the first two Marvel Legends Prop Replica role-play toys: the life-size Captain America’s Shield and Iron Man’s Helmet. Hasbro said at Toy Fair they’d use the pre-order sales to gauge of the line would be continuing. They must be happy with the sales, because they’ve not posted a Fan’s Choice Vote online for the next addition to the Marvel Legends Role-Play Items line!
