The Marvel Cinematic Universe has developed a bit of a reputation for having villains in the movie that are… not the best. From Malekith to Kaecillius to Yellowjacket, the villains of the MCU have been largely unmemorable. But when I heard that Dark Galadriel herself–Cate Blanchett–was going to be portraying Hela in “Thor: Ragnarok”, I got my hopes up that we were in for something great. Hot Toys must have been thinking the same thing, because they developed their first MCU villain figure in quite a while: the Hot Toys Hela sixth scale figure is now up for order!

When Gentle Giant Ltd. revealed their line of 1:8 scale Marvel Collector Gallery statues two years back, many collectors rejoiced at the notion of not only saving space with these smaller resin statues, but also money, as they’ve kept to around a $160 price-point. When Hasbro released a non-classic Marvel Legends Black Knight figure in 2007, fans were thrilled to get a 6” Black Knight figure… but less thrilled with the costume choice. At New York Comic Con 2017, Kotobukiya confirmed what most fans had already guessed: that the first entry in the ARTFX+ Defenders statues lineup would be a comics-based figure of the icon of the Netflix Marvel franchise, Daredevil. The reveal of a black costume variant right off the bat was a switch (Koto has never done variants immediately in a Marvel ARTFX+ series before), and now collectors can have their choice: both versions of the ARTFX+ Daredevil statues are now up for order!
