I’m already heavily invested in several Marvel vinyl figure lines (primarily Funko POP Vinyls, Hikari, Dorbz and Disney Vinylmation), so I’ve tried to steer clear of buying many of the Hot Toys Cosbaby Marvel figures. But, well, sometimes there’s a release that’s just plain irresistible, and the newest addition to the line fits that bill to a ‘D’: the Hot Toys Deadpool Cosbaby figure goes up for order this week!

When collectors hear the name “Hot Toys”, their minds immediately flash to the beloved Movie Masterpiece Series of sixth scale figures, which contains the best movie toys of most of the characters from the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).

But Hot Toys makes more than 1/6 figures, and one of their most popular side offerings is the Cosbaby range of 3.75″ vinyl figures. On the Marvel side, all of the Cosbabies have been based on MCU characters–at least, until now, as a certain chimichanga-loving merc with a mouth is now breaking the mold!

Deadpool is the first character from the FOX X-Men universe to be immortalized in costumed baby vinyl figure form by Hot Toys (well, that sentence sounded bizarre). And while I’ve rarely broken down and ordered a Cosbaby figure, my resolve was broken the instant I saw Lil’ Wade.

The Deadpool Cosbaby figure stands 9.5 cm (3 3/4″) tall and is posed holding a deadly katana in one hand and giving the thumbs up with the other. We’ve seen a similar pose this year from the Funko POP Vinyls, but I think Hot Toys has earned the crown for cutest vinyl Deadpool. With his stubby little sword and sheath on his back, and his expressive slightly squinty left eye, this Cosbaby Deadpool is irresistibly adorable.

Like all figures in the Cosbabies series, this chibi Wade Wilson figure doesn’t have any true articulation–but you can twist his head into whatever direction you please, which helps to give him at least some “posing” potential.

Hot Toys has been known to occasionally release special edition and variant Cosbabies, so it’s not impossible that we’ll see a gun-toting or unmasked Deadpool Cosbaby show up somewhere down the line, but I strongly suspect that this movie figure is a one-and-done offering on Hot Toys’ part. If you’ve ever felt the need to own a toy of a baby dressed up cosplaying as Deadpool (did I really just say that sentence?), this is likely the only one that will ever be released.

But perhaps best of all, this line is really reasonably priced for import toys from a high-end giant like Hot Toys. We don’t have a confirmed price-point yet for Deadpool, but he’s expected to be priced right around $16–a totally fair price for a hefty, high-quality vinyl figurine like this one.

The Deadpool Hot Toys Cosbaby Figure should be up for order later this week, and is expected to be released in Spring 2016. I’m psyched to get this guy, as he’s gonna look fantastic displayed alongside the sixth scale Deadpool figure.
