The Battle for New York seen in last year’s “The Avengers” movie is nothing compared to the war that Hot Toys is waging on Hot Toys Avengers and Iron Man collectors this spring! After a somewhat light fall and winter, Avengers Hot Toys figures like Black Widow, Thor, and Agent Coulson have been released one after the next. And things are about to get even more expensive for Iron Man Hot Toys fans, as the long-awaited Avengers Hot Toys Iron Man Mark VII Movie Masterpiece Series figure has now been released overseas!
It’s taken an entire year of waiting, but the latest Iron Man is out in Asia and will be coming home to collectors in the United States any week now! He features light-up parts and more bonus accessories and removable armor pieces than any Iron Man Hot Toys figure before him.
No one buys a $250 Hot Toys figure for the box, but the slipcover on this Iron Man Mark VII Avengers Movie Masterpiece figure admittedly looks really slick, and far cooler than the previous Hot Toys Iron Man boxes do.
While there is an extremely limited “Iron Man 3 Movie Promo” Hot Toys Battle-Damaged Iron Man Mark VII figure that sold out in a couple hours, this standard Iron Man Mark 7 Movie Masterpiece Series figure also contains its own battle-damaged pieces (though obviously not nearly to the same extent as the official Battle-Damaged version). I was lucky enough to get a pre-order for the Iron Man Mark VII Battle Damaged Movie Promo, but it’s nice that some battle-damaged armor pieces come with the standard figure for those who couldn’t get in on the Movie Promo.
Like most Hot Toys Iron Man Movie Masterpiece figures, Iron Man Mark VII comes with a Tony Stark head. I’m not 100% sold on the likeness of this particular head sculpt to Robert Downey Jr., but I do absolutely love that Hot Toys is giving us a smirking Tony Stark head sculpt. I think I’m going to have to have this figure in-hand before I can really judge the Robert Downey Jr. head for myself.
This is one of very few instances in which Hot Toys has taken collectors completely by surprise by including even more accessories than they showed with the official Iron Man Mark 7 MMS pre-order solicitation! The Iron Man Mark VII Hot Toys figure now includes brand-new repulsor palm hands to enable Tony Stark to do his signature hands up firing pose, as well as two whole extra arms outfitted with forearm wrist lasers. Thanks Hot Toys!
The Hot Toys Avengers Iron Man Mark VII figure was just released overseas this past week, and is now on its way to America. Look for Hot Toys Iron Man Mark 7 to ship out to collectors in the United States in mid-June 2013.
Sideshow Collectibles is sold-out, but if you sign up for the Wait List, you’re almost assured to get one for retail price instead of an inflated markup price. I’ve had a lot of success with Sideshow’s Wait List lately, as I was able to get both the “Sold Out” Captain America and Black Widow figures from Wait List conversions last week, so be sure to get on the Wait List if you’re wanting Iron Man Mark VII!
Yeah I’ve had pretty good luck on Sideshow’s ‘Wait List as well. ‘IM Mark IV’ Gunmetal Exclusive, ‘DX07 Bespin Luke & ‘Hawkeye’ are among several figures that became available for me on Sideshow’s ‘Wait List’. I’m on the ‘Wait List’ for the Battle Damaged Mark VII & DX13 ‘Battle Damged T-800’ as well, hopefully those figures become available to me. The key is to not panic if a figure is sold out and simply put yourself on the ‘Wait List’, as long as you do it soon enough the chances of a figure becoming available for you are great like you said.
Were you able to get either the Mark 7 BD or the T-800?
I’ve got the Battle Damaged Mark VII sitting sealed in its box on the floor in front of me right now. I was very lucky/pleased to get that pre-order in.
The T-800? I don’t know what that is…
The T-800 is what Arnold Schwarzenegger played in the Terminator movies.
The Battle damaged T-800 became available to me and they charged me the deposit about 2 months ago, when it releases next month i’ll have it. I’m still on the waiting list for the battle damaged Mark VII. Even if one becomes available I might cancel it or buy it and re-sell it since I already have the Exclusive Mark VII.
Hi, in the second photo the Arc Reactor is triangle like the Mark vi, why is that?
