There hasn’t been a whole lot of X-Men toy news to report lately (as in none), but one of the rarest of all branches of X-Men merchandise had a new figure finally arrive after being on pre-order for way over a year: it’s the X-Men Hot Toys Wolverine Figure based on Wolverine’s appearance in “X-Men: The Last Stand”. This Wolverine Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece just arrived in Asia earlier this month, and it has made its way to the United States at lightning-fast speed, where pre-orders are now starting to be received by happy collectors… 

Though Hot Toys has been rapidly churning out Marvel Hot Toys sixth-scale figures in their Hot Toys Iron Man and Hot Toys Avengers lines, the X-Men haven’t really gotten much love from Hot Toys so far. There was a Hot Toys X-Men Origins Wolverine Movie Masterpiece figure of Logan released a while ago that now sells for nearly $500+ on ebay, but ever since there’s been nary an X-Men released. An X-Men First Class Hot Toys Charles Xavier figure prototype was shown, but has never gone up for order. So for X-Men 1:6 scale figure fans, it’s been some pretty sad times.

But every little bit counts, as a second Hot Toys X-Men figure has been released and has arrived in the United States after a very long wait: the Hot Toys Wolverine X-Men the Last Stand figure. This is both the second  Wolverine Hot Toys figure and the second Hugh Jackman Hot Toys figure.

This Hot Toys Wolverine X-Men The Last Stand figure comes with a spectacular light-up Sentinel Head figure base, which is easily the coolest base I’ve ever seen for a Hot Toys figure. We’re lucky this went up for pre-orders so long ago–at today’s Hot Toys prices, this would cost $299 or more as opposed to the “cheap” $235 retail price Hot Toy charged for it.

The X-Men are one of the great loves of my life. I probably own more X-Men related comic books than every other comic book that I own, all put together. That said, the third X-Men movie, “X-Men The Last Stand”, sort of soured me on X-Men movies as a whole. I was so disappointed and irritated by the X-3 movie that I hadn’t watched any of the X-Men films in over half a decade. Seeing the photos of this figure inspired me to go and watch the X-Men: The Last Stand movie again… and it’s still not good. But man, seeing Wolverine on-screen in that black leather costume really drove home what a spectacular job Hot Toys did with this Hot Toys Hugh Jackman figure.

The X-Men Hot Toys Wolverine X-Men The Last Stand Movie Masterpiece figure is still available for pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles. Sideshow already received the first part of their shipment of the Wolverine Hot Toys figure, and is awaiting the arrival of the remainder of their allotment right now. The Hot Toys Wolverine Movie Masterpiece figure is expected to ship out within the next week.
