It’s the third Friday of the month, which means it’s once again time to enjoy a new batch of Diamond Select Toys solicitations! DST is spreading out their love to a more diverse range of brands than usual in their September 2022 solicitations, but they’ve also got some new and returning collectibles for Marvel fans as well: the Marvel Gallery Immortal Hulk diorama, Animated Loki statue and several Marvel Select figure reissues are now up for order!

Marvel fans are used to being spoiled rotten by Diamond Select Toys, but as DST diversifies their lineup of brands, sometimes Marvel will have to take a back seat. This is one of those months, as the majority of new items in the DST solicits hail from Star Wars, Transformers and even Gargoyles!

But on the bright side, Marvel Select fans are getting restocks of several classic figures, while on the all-new front Skottie Young Loki and Immortal Hulk statues appear!

The biggest (literally) new Marvel DST collectible this month is their Marvel Gallery Immortal Hulk statue. This 11.5” PVC is part of the new diorama line, with a lot more bulk and detail than a usual Marvel Gallery statue.

This piece isn’t just bigger than usual for Gallery, though—it also comes with a much bigger price-tag in the form of a $125 MSRP. That will tie with the recent Green Goblin as the most pricey item in the entire series so far.

Immortal Hulk is one of the scariest takes on the character, and this is a suitably scary statue of him charging forward and reaching out for something to smash. The painted resin prototype of this looks superb—let’s hope the PVC production piece holds up.

The other new Marvel collectible this month is a new addition to the long-running line of Skottie Young Marvel Babies Animated statues.

 

I’m usually quite good at identifying the exact cover art each of the Marvel Babies statues are based off of, but I don’t actually remember seeing this Loki on a Skottie Young variant cover. That said, Loki was one of my top non-mutant wants from this lineup, and I already own an enamel pin of this design, so I’m pleased to be getting a matching mini statue.

With his mischievous expression and bright green and yellow hues, this 4” resin Marvel Animated Loki statue is going to really pop in a display full of these Skottie statues. I’m also grateful the prices have remained so low on these little statues in a land of rising costs everywhere. I am hyped for this piece!

Finally, we’ve got another trio of Marvel Select re-releases to add to the Juggernaut Select reprint from earlier this winter: Magneto, Thanos (with Lady Death) and Planet Hulk. I’m not sure that there was a huge outcry for Magneto and Thanos reissues right now, but DST knows what stores are requesting better than me. I think a lot of collectors will be pleased to snag this Planet Hulk at MSRP again, at least.

The September 2022 Diamond Select Toys figures and statues are now up for order, and should be available for a while—only Loki is limited, and that’s to a decently large 3000 pieces.
