We’ve known since long before Thor: The Dark World came out in theaters last fall that Thor and Loki were the toy characters from the film that Hot Toys had in the works, so it’s tough to feign surprise now that the 1/6 Thor The Dark World Hot Toys Loki Figure has finally been officially announced. What I don’t have to feign, though, is excitement over the fact that this new Loki Hot Toys figure is now available for order and is purely awesome!

If there’s one Marvel villain out there that the market can absorb more Hot Toys versions of right now, it’s Loki. Tom Hiddleston’s Loki has risen from being a fan-favorite in the first “Thor” movie to being Marvel’s hottest and most iconic movie villain for his performances in “The Avengers” and “Thor The Dark World”. The original Avengers Hot Toys Loki figure released last year sells for a crazy $350-$450+ on the aftermarket now, so clearly there are plenty of fans out there dying to get their hands on a new Loki Movie Masterpiece figure.

And in Fall 2014, those collectors will get their chances, as Hot Toys will be releasing this all-new Tom Hiddleston Hot Toys Loki figure based off of the character’s appearance in Thor: The Dark World. This time out Loki’s clothes are a bit different, he’s not packing a staff or helmet, and he has a brand-new (and slightly-improved, in my opinion) Tom Hiddleston head sculpt (I’ve heard some fans complain about this head sculpt already, but comparing it to screenshots from the movie, it still looks good to me).

The amount of accessories that come with this Thor 2 Loki Hot Toys figure is a bit sparse, but Loki also didn’t interact with a whole bunch of props or weapons in the Thor: The Dark World movie. The 2014 Hot Toys Loki comes with a dagger, six pairs of interchangeable hands, handcuffs with chains, foot cuffs with chains and a neck collar with chains. Those Asgardians sure are into chains!

There will be a Sideshow Exclusive Hot Toys Loki figure with exclusive Aether accessory released as well. I can’t remember if Loki ever actually got to hold the Aether at all in the movie, but it’s still a cool accessory that most Hot Toys collectors will want in their collections.

The Hot Toys Thor The Dark World Loki Movie Masterpiece Series figure is now available for order, and is scheduled to be released in September 2014.
