Hot Toys Tony Stark Arc Reactor Creation Figure Up for Order!

Given that Hot Toys already put two Iron Man sixth scale figures up for order last week and another this week (for a grand total of over $900 in pre-orders), it seems reasonable to think that Hot Toys might be done with old Tony Stark for a couple weeks. But that kind of logical thought process leads to fallacy, and Hot Toys knows no limits when it comes to milking Tony Stark! Digging all the way back to the Iron Man 2 movie for inspiration, the Hot Toys Tony Stark with Arc Reactor Creation accessories is now up for order!

Tony Stark with Arc Reactor Creation Accessories Hot Toys 2015 Set

I have a higher Iron Man tolerance than most, but even I stared blankly at the screen last night when Hot Toys released the first-ever images of Hot Toys MMS273 Arc Reactor Creation Tony Stark.

Not because it’s bad–I think this is hands-down, no-questions-asked the best Robert Downey Jr. head sculpt that Hot Toys has ever done–but because of the sheer lunacy of a fourth new sixth scale Tony Stark figure being put up for pre-order in a period of about ten total days.

Arc Reactor Creation Tony Stark Hot Toys Figure with GogglesMMS 273 contains a civilian Tony Stark figure with a bunch of workshop accessories, with the obvious “big prize” amongst the accessories being the fan-favorite Captain America shield prototype used as a level in Iron Man 2. In addition, the set includes an arc reactor, an arc reactor core holder, a pair of goggles (which look awesome on the RDJ portrait, by the way), and a pair of blueprints.

Although it’s shown in the photos, the wheeled desk is not included this time.

MMS273 Hot Toys Prototype Captain America Shield with Tony Stark FigureThe Hot Toys Tony Stark with Arc Reactor Creation accessories set also includes a figure stand, alternate hands, and a choice of outfitting Tony in a black tank top or a black polo shirt (or no shirt at all!).

This is sort of a silly, non-essential release, but I love the new Tony Stark head sculpt, as well as the goggles and the prototype Captain America shield. If the price is right on this release–and it’ll have to be under $200 in this case for the price to feel right to me–then I’ll definitely pick this figure up. Any higher and I don’t know that I’ll be able to consider this figure a good value personally. (UPDATE: The official MSRP for Arc Reactor Creation Tony Stark is $199.99. Hot Toys must have heard my demand!)

And considering that Hot Toys has just invested the moolah in developing this all-new Iron Man 2 Tony Stark head sculpt, I think it’s pretty certain at this point that we’ll finally be getting the long-demanded (no, seriously) Hot Toys Racing Suit Tony Stark figure from the race car scene in Iron Man 2.

Hot Toys Tony Stark with Arc Reactor Creation Accessories SetThe Hot Toys Iron Man 2 Tony Stark with Arc Reactor Creation Accessories is now up for order, with the release scheduled for January 2015. And yes–that is next month. That’s service, right?!

What are your feeling on yet another Iron Man Hot Toys figure going up for order this week? Are you at your Hot Toys Iron Man limit for the year, or are you hoping that Hot Toys has even more sixth-scale Iron Man figures lined up for the near-future?
