Against all odds and expectations, Hot Toys announced earlier this week that they would be debuting the insanely-anticipated Hot Toys Hulkbuster Iron Man and Thanos figures at the Hong Kong Toy Soul 2014 event this week. We had to wait a couple hours for the event to officially begin before they were put on display, but Hot Toys was true to their word: the Hot Toys Thanos and Hulkbuster Iron Man sixth scale figures are in the house!

First up, we have the much talked about Hot Toys Hulkbuster Iron Man sixth scale figure! It’s difficult to judge the exact size and scale of this Iron Man Hulkbuster Hot Toys figure without having him standing next to another figure for comparison, but it’s blatantly obvious that this figure is huge.

And while we don’t know how exactly well he’ll stack up next to other Hot Toys Avengers figures just yet, I can at least applaud Hot Toys on the proportions and incredible paint applications on the Hulkbuster Iron Man Hot Toys figure. Take my money, Hot Toys (just please–not more than $699 of it)!

Although I’m not yet sold on the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s take on Thanos (especially after his silly cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy), Hot Toys’ interpretation of movie Thanos looks amazing.

The only part of the Hot Toys Thanos I’m not really impressed with thus far is his bored, “zoning out” facial expression. Give me a sneer or an evil smile for Thanos over his “meh” expression any day, Hot Toys!

These are just my first impressions of Hulkbuster Iron Man and Thanos–I’ll continue giving my comments on both figure over the course of the next day as more photos of the Movie Masterpiece Figures emerge from the event and we get alternate angles for both of them.

Now that we’ve gotten our first good look at Hot Toys Thanos and Hulkbuster Iron Man, what do you think, Marvel collectors? These will be very expensive, make no mistake, but if money were no object, would these be on your shopping list for next year?
