While it feels like we’re getting buried in Marvel Legends 6″ figures during this first half of 2016, things haven’t been quite as rosy for the Marvel Universe scale Marvel Legends 4″ figures. In fact, there’s still quite a few figures that debuted 10 months ago that haven’t made it out yet. But some of those figures are finally getting ready to make their way into collectors’ hands: 3.75″ Marvel Legends Comic Packs Wave 2 is now up for order!
And while certain figures (like gold Ultron) may legit never make it out at this point, the last three comic packs shown at SDCC 2015 are finally going up for order!
And hey, each of the two-packs will even come with a reasonably recent 2015 “Secret Wars” tie-in comic book! I don’t particularly love any of the comics represented here, but at least they’re modern and fresh comics.
The case ratios for the Marvel Legends 4″ 2-Packs Wave 2 are as follows:
(3) Web Slingers — Scarlet Spider (Kaine) & Spider-Man
(2) Supreme Powers — Hyperion & Marvel NOW Hyperion
(3) Cosmic Marvels — Masked Captain Marvel Carol Danvers & Captain Mar-Vell
From my viewpoint, those are some terrific case ratios! Hyperion is a C-List character at best, so a two-pack containing two versions of Hyperion should absolutely be shortpacked. In wonder if this pack might not have been better at one per case, honestly.
Meanwhile, the Kaine Scarlet Spider figure finally makes its Marvel Universe/Marvel Infinite Series debut, paired up with a classic 3.75″ Spider-Man (Peter Parker) figure. Even packed at three-per-case, I expect this set to sell through speedily.
I’m not at all thrilled with the torso used on these figures, but seeing as how this version of Scarlet Spider has been in this site’s headers (and my Facebook avatar) since the inception of Marvel Toy News, you better believe I’ll be picking up a couple copies of this Marvel Legends Scarlet Spider figure.
I personally dislike the masked Carol Danvers (and already bought the unmasked version) and have no affinity for Mar-Vell either, so this set is a rare pass for me in the Hasbro Marvel Universe figures scale. Your masked or unmasked preference may vary.
The Hasbro 4″ Marvel Legends Wave 2 Comic Packs are now available for order, and are scheduled to be released in May 2016 (and yes, I know that’s this month). The series is available as a set, individual packs and an entire case online right now. I’d expect to see these figures begin to hit brick-and-mortar stores by next month as well.
What do you think of the second series of rebranded Marvel Legends Comic Packs, Marvel collectors? Are you planning on scooping up any or all of the two-packs in this series, or are you hoping for something different in the next wave?
I find it HILARIOUS that Kaine is coming packaged with a comic he wasn’t even in! Neither Scarlet Spider nor Spider-Man were actually in the Secret Wars “Spider-Verse” comic.
Nice. Im not going to pre order but if i see ’em in a store, im getting them.
I should’ve held out for that Captain Marvel with mask! Curses!
