The Hasbro Marvel Legends 3.75″ figures line may have gotten off to a slow start in 2016–in fact, we’re still waiting for Wave 2 to arrive–but the long-awaited and totally awesome-looking 4″ Marvel Legends Wave 3 is now up for order! Including characters like Quasar, Hydro-Man and Rogue, the character selection for this series is gonna make a lot of people smile! The case ratios for the figures, however… perhaps not so much…

To bring 2015 to a close, on four consecutive days in December, Hasbro revealed one of the four new action figures that would make up the third wave of Marvel Legends 3.75″ Wave 3 figures each day for almost a week.

And while there will always be collectors that groan about character selection, this particular lineup was met with almost universal praise, as three out of the four characters had never been done in this scale before and the fourth was a fan-favorite female X-Men member: Rogue, Morbius, Hydro-Man and the first-ever articulated Quasar figure.

We didn’t know at the time when and in what wave we’d be getting those figures, but we do now! Coming in May 2016 (AKA this month), it’s the Marvel Legends 4″ Wave 3 cases!

But while the good news is that the case ratios are totally even, the bad news is that half the case is composed of repacked figures from earlier waves…

The 4″ Marvel Legends Wave 3 case ratios are as follows:

(1) Black Panther [Repack]
(1) Armored Spider-Man
(1) House of M Spider-Man
(1) Original Iron Man Mark I

Now, repacking Black Panther in this assortment is probably the best possible repack we could have gotten, as the first release of the figure this year has sold like wildfire. In fact, I’ve never seen this year’s 4″ Black Panther action figure in a store yet.

That said, Iron Man Mark I figures always sell pretty poorly, and I’m not convinced Spider-Armor Spider-Man will do much better (though Armored Spider-Man hasn’t shipped yet at all, since he’s from Wave 2).

House of M Spidey has been a pegwarmer thus far, but hopefully his impending appearance in the Civil War movie will keep this red-and-blue costumed Spider-Man variant from rotting off the pegs.

Wave 3 of the 2016 Marvel Legends 3.75″ figures is now available for order online in cases and as sets containing just the new figures, and is expected to be released in May 2016. There’s a lot of product in the pipeline right now, but I’d guess we’ll see these figures hit brick-and-mortar stores by the end of next month at the latest as well.
