Friday afternoon we got our first look at the Marvel Select X-Men Days of Future Past Mystique figure via the photo that Diamond Select Toys shared of Mystique, but I wanted to see a couple more shots of Mystique from several different angles. While the first photo that we got to see of Mystique yesterday made her look a tad washed out, that’s thankfully just the lighting in the photo. In these additional photos, though the photos are a bit on the small side, we can clearly see that the 7″ Marvel Select Mystique action figure has the same deep blue skin color that we’ve come to love from the original X-Men movie trilogy and X-Men: First Class.

In addition, it’s pretty obvious that this is the best-sculpted and most-detailed Jennifer Lawrence Mystique figure ever made by any company (which isn’t a surprise, since Diamond Select Toys has never tackled Mystique before in this scale).

The White House display base that the Mystique Marvel Select action figure will come packed with looks awesome. Even if I didn’t want the Mystique figure itself (but I do), I would want this ultra-detailed backdrop to use with other action figures. Iron Patriot will look terrific standing in the White House next to the flags! This is a real stroke of genius on Diamond Select Toys’ part.

I was initially a bit dismayed by DST’s choice of Mystique as their sole X-Men Days of Future Past figure, but as I’ve pondered the selection throughout the day, I think I’m okay with it now. While Toybiz released Mystique way back in the olden days of the original X-Men movies, we haven’t had a movie-based 6″-7″ Marvel Legends scale Mystique figure in around a decade now.

As one of the most recognizable characters from the X-Men movie franchise–and one of the only characters to appear in all five X-Men movies–Mystique is a solid choice for production and is likely to be a top-seller later this year to both X-Men movie fans and fans of clothes-less Jennifer Lawrence.

I’ll post an alert when the Marvel Select Mystique X-Men Days of Future Past figure goes up for sale. Based off these further photos (small as they may be), I think I’m now sold on the first movie Mystique action figure in many years. What about you, Marvel fans?
