I had a terrible first hour and a half at New York Comic Con 2014 this year, as I immediately got into the Toy Tokyo line at show opening at noon. At 1:25, after 85 minutes and moving four steps forward, I flipped out and walked off. BUT–!! It was worth my meaningless hour and a half in line, because when storming off I caught sight of the just-revealed Funko Hikari Groot vinyl figures!

Initially I could only grab a quick photo from a few feet away, as the line was right in front of the display case I needed to photograph, but just from the glance I caught (and bad photo), I already feel like Funko’s hand is reaching into my wallet and pulling out hundreds of dollars of my money.

Once things cooled down later on in the afternoon, I went back to then Toy Tokyo booth to snap a million more photos of the Funko Groot Hikari vinyls.

While most of these Funko Hikari Groot figures have non-canonical colorways, every single one of them looks like a true work of art.

There weren’t any other Hikari on the shelf with Groot, so I couldn’t tell if he’s the standard $50 6″ Hikari or the $80 8″ variety. I’m hoping for the former, because I want them all, and that may not be an option at 80 bucks each.
