NYCC: Marvel Legends 2019 Ebony Maw & Corvus Glaive Photos!

Pretty much all of my NYCC 2018 Marvel Legends photos are now posted (or will be posted shortly) on Facebook (with a healthy dose on Instagram and Twitter), and I’ll begin posting about most of them here on the main page over the weekend. But as so many people have asked about this duo, I figured I’d throw up a quick post regarding two of the most-demanded characters revealed by Hasbro at the show: 2019 Marvel Legends Corvus Glaive and Ebony Maw!

The Hasbro Marvel team officially unveiled the much-requested Avengers Infinity War Marvel Legends Ebony Maw and Corvus Glaive figures at the Hasbro New York Comic Con 2018 Press Event yesterday afternoon. Hasbro isn’t giving any release information of any kind out for this part, besides the fact that both figures are set to be released in 2019 in some form.

As you can tell from the photos, both figures are 100% new sculpts, and both are larger than your typical ML 6″ figure (as they should be). Ebony Maw looks a bit too tall for my liking and is lacking his hair tuft, but otherwise I think he looks outstanding. Corvus Glaive is perfect as-is, in my opinion. I’ll post more thoughts on these when I’m not coming and going from NYCC, but for now, here’s the hi-res photos dump…

NYCC: Marvel Legends 2019 Ebony Maw & Corvus Glaive Photos! — 7 Comments

  1. Both of these look great, but I’d be shocked if either is a single-card release. I think it is more likely that they are either BAFs or will be sold in separate 2-packs, each accompanied by a re-released character. Hasbro knows its customers will buy extra figs to get these guys.

That said, depending on who comes with the 2-packs, it could work out reasonably well. For instance, a Corvus Glaive- Vision 2-pack would be great for those of us who couldn’t get the Vision-Scarlet Witch 2-pack at retail. And a 2-pack of Ebony Maw would be cool if it came with either Iron Spider with waldoes, or Iron Man with some nanotech accessories, or the Doc Strange with 3-pack version’s improved head sculpt.

What would be really annoying is if they did a 2-pack of Corvus Glaive with Proxima and a 2-pack of Maw with Cull, since i really don’t want to buy those characters again even if they tweaked Proxie’s head paint and made Cull more mcu-accurate. I think that is not that likely because Cull’s size would mean a higher price for that 2-pack.

  2. They look great, even though I am not much on the MCU stuff… we loved these guys in the movie.

Forgive my ignorance but… Typically, does the fact that the molds are new indicate they will be BAF’s or ordered in a higher profit 2-Pack?

  3. Afaik, most if not all MCU characters get new sculpts that they then resell as repaints later on.

Corvus Glaive looks great. Ebony Maw, who was easily my favorite member of the Black Order, looks detailed than the filmed version. I think it’s the unpainted gray plastic for his armor that’s throwing me off. But that’s my nitpick. I’m happy to have the whole Black Order in figure form.

  4. All I come away with from these is that I see Beta Ray Bill and Forge in the background. Not taking away from these figures that look good, but that’s the stuff that gets my heart pumping.

  5. I think as good as they look, they’ll have to update Proxy now cause she looks to cartoonist those 2 and cull look great.
