Carol Danvers’ popularity has had its ups and downs since her live-action MCU movie came out in 2019, with some fans quickly burning out on the character due to the copious amounts of merch suddenly available for her. But one version of Captain Marvel a lot of collectors have still been asking to see in Hasbro 6” figure form is her ultimate comic-based form: Binary! Her limited release was announced last year, but after initially only being available at EBGames in Canada, while supplies last (which won’t be long if she follows the trends of Quasar and Nova),  the Walgreens Exclusive Binary figure is now up for order online domestically!

I was hoping that the MCU movies would work their magic and help me connect with a character that I never really “got” previously, but unfortunately, Brie Larson mostly fell flat for me as Captain Marvel (though I did hugely enjoy her limited scenes in Avengers Endgame).

And so, when Hasbro announced their first-ever comic-based Binary Marvel Legends figure as a 2021/2022 Walgreens/EB Games exclusive, it didn’t do much to move my personal hype needle.

But I know this ultra-powerful iteration of Carol has her fans—particularly those hardcore into classic X-Men and cosmic comics—and for those fans I am thrilled! Hasbro went all-out for this release, including a whopping four effects pieces and a pair of interchangeable fists as accessories.

US distribution was clearly an issue with this release, but after initially only being available at EBGames in Canada, the Walgreens Exclusive Binary figure is now up for order online domestically!
