Walmart Exclusive Marvel Legends Endgame Captain America & Mjolnir!

If there’s one thing that Marvel Legends collectors could have confidently bet their life on coming out of Avengers Endgame, it’s that Hasbro would cash in on the sure-thing best-seller that is a “Worthy” Captain America figure. And now that all spoiler embargos have been listed, the announcement has transpired—but in an unexpected way: the Walmart Exclusive Marvel Legends Endgame Captain America with Mjolnir figure has now been revealed!

Worthy Captain America Marvel Legends Walmart Exclusive

Walmart Exclusives have been a sore subject for many Marvel Legends collectors this year, as their “Binary” Captain Marvel exclusive figure that was due out in January has never arrived at all and the Walmart website ended up canceling thousands of pre-orders for their Infinity War Corvus Glaive and Loki two-pack.

So to see a new movie figure that most MCU fans would consider a “MUST-have” announced as another Walmart exclusive has definitely been met with some consternation from collectors. But aside from how difficult he may end up being to acquire, let’s have a look at this much-demanded Cap…

Avengers Endgame Legends Captain America Mjolnir Walmart ExclusiveIt would have been easy for Hasbro to slap an old ML Captain America 6” figure in a new box with a hammer and stick it on store shelves—but that’s not quite what they actually did for this release.

Instead, what we’re getting here is the lower body of Infinity War Captain America from last year mixed with an all-new upper body, arms and interchangeable heads (and I believe an all-new Mjolnir hammer sculpt). There’s been much complaining about “Skinny Cap”, so it’s nice to see a new upper torso that shows that Steve is working out!

Hasbro Marvel Legends Worthy Captain America Exclusive Figure Unmasked Chris Evans HeadAnd speaking of Steve—we get a Chris Evans Steve Rogers portrait head included with this set that’s really pretty decent. Hasbro shan’t be encroaching on Hot Toys’ territory with this likeness or anything, but it’s a big improvement over their past efforts to portray Chris Evans.

Marvel Legends Endgame Worthy Captain America with Mjolnir 6 Inch Figure

For obvious reasons, Hasbro couldn’t show off this particular Captain America action figure prior to Avengers Endgame coming up. In fact, packaged photos that have hit Instagram confirm that Mjolnir will still be obscured behind Cap’s shield in the packaging as one final attempt to preserve the surprise for those who haven’t seen Endgame yet (good luck with that).

Sadly, no broken/shattered shield for Captain America is included here (it is dirty, at least), which is a real bummer. I think there’s still hope for that with a future Marvel Legends Endgame Captain America figure (perhaps in this fall’s Avengers Endgame Wave 3?), but it would have been nice to see it packed in here.

Walmart Exclusive Endgame Captain America Legends Figure with MjolnirThe Avengers Endgame Marvel Legends Captain America Walmart Exclusive is due out in stores this summer. A placeholder page has been posted on their website for Worthy Cap, but he’s not actually live for ordering just yet. There are some alleged sightings of the figure beginning to circulate online now (which confirm that the UPC # is 630509816453), but I want to see receipts and see in-store photos before reporting that this Cap is really out there in the US and sending folks into a frenzy.

What do you think of this Marvel Legends Worthy Captain America figure? Are you miffed that this quintessential figure is an exclusive, or have you had good luck with Walmart this year? And if this is the only “Final Battle” Cap we ever get from Hasbro, are you satisfied with it?

  1. Eh, nice looking figure but likely i will pass on it. If he had a scuffed up uniform and broken shield that might be different, but as it is, I feel like i could just grab a mjolnir from a thor figure and use it with 10th anniv Cap (granted, i would have to swap out his right hand for one that can hold the hammer). That unmasked head looks great, though.

And yeah, WM has really made quite a hash of things with their exclusives so far this year. Not looking forward to trying to chase down 80th anniv Cap later this year.

    • I don’t mess with Walmart exclusives anymore after what happened with the Walmart Thanos. I ordered it online and paid for it. Never heard anything from the store so when I called the store they said they were sold out even though it said there were 5 in stock when I ordered it. Either a scalper bought all 5 before they went to get it off the shelf or they never had them to begin with and their website was wrong. Either way it was very frustrating. There were plenty of them on eBay for over double the price though! B

  2. Disappointed by the lack of a broken shield, but everything else looks great. Best Chris Evans head they ever did. I might try and pick this one up.

  3. Wait, they cancelled thousands of Infinity War Corvus Glaive and Loki two-pack pre-orders? I got mine, I never knew that happened.

    I hate Walmart exclusives.

Now I have to go to Canada to get the Binary Captain Marvel, and look for a miracle to find this Captain America!

  4. Something is always lost in the translation with these MCU Cap costumes. How in the blue hell does RED translate to BROWN? Brown white and blue? No. I’m pretty sure it’s red white and blue! The boots and gloves need to be red. THIS is why the Avengers movie Cap is still the best version. It’s the closest they’ve come to the source material so far.

  5. Is this cynical bait and switch game with customers over exclusives a thing or am I crazy? Scalpers clearly don’t help the retailers, and it seems obvious why Hasbro plays along; they get paid either way. I can only imagine the reason retailers participate who play this game do it to get customers into their stores under false pretenses. That is, unless someone can explain why that’s not their intent, despite it happening repeatedly. Maybe they spend so much money on nabbing exclusives that there’s no budget left to actually produce the figures? Like how licensed video games often are terrible. Oh, the irony…

I just wish these “essential” figures weren’t exclusives, destined to be sold at inflated prices on the aftermarket. That Binary figure would’ve sold much better than the bomber jacket Carol as a part of that CM wave. Same goes with this Cap figure versus the off-brand Quantum Suit Cap that’s already marked down 25%. From my uneducated perspective, it seems like Hasbro is taking a hit to their bottom line in these mainline waves by saving them for exclusives. (Corvus Glaive being a WM exclusive is kind of an “F-U” to collectors who have been building out the Black Order.)

And now this… Unless the next Endgame wave has a Cap that tops this, it would frankly be yet another middle finger to collectors if the best figure based on the best MCU Cap suit was yet another too-bad-you-missed-it exclusive. I fully expect the same thing that’s happened in the recent past to happen with this figure *and* the 80th Anniversary Alex Ross Cap. Hasbro could easily fix this with Pulse, which was supposed to be a different and new online experience, but will they? Funny how fan channel exclusives are available on Pulse but not retailer exclusives.

    • I’m in agreement with you. F^%# Hasbro for their at times marginally acceptable Marvel figures, and now this b.s. I went to two different Wal-Marts hunting for this figure, and all I got out of it was the headache of throngs of idiots, and some crazy guy striking up a conversation that I didn’t want to have.

      • I don’t have a Walmart anywhere near me so I can’t say if I’d have the same experience. But I’m sympathetic to the frustrating lack of availability though. I do have lots of Walgreens and Targets, and even though availability has been terrible, the Walgreens employees are super nice. Target doesn’t seem to know or really care about what’s in stock. It just shows up on the shelves, eventually, usually at their flagship stores.

  6. Sorry, it’s nice and all, but I’m all full up on Captain America Legends figures. This would be something like my 5th or 6th. Unless a wave comes out with a BAF, AND it’s a BAF that I MUST have, I will not buy another Captain America for any reason.

  7. I luckily all ready found this figure at first I thought I’d pass but after looking at it I decided to pick it up and now I’m glad I did because my local Walmart didn’t have any left the next day when I went back.

  8. Anyone have any luck finding these in Southern California? I’ve gone to two Wal-Marts in two days, nothing. This sucks because I hate going to Wal-Mart, haven’t been to one in years before yesterday. It’s usually a shit-show of people and some idiot coming up to me picking a fight over something on my t-shirt. Last night it was, wait why do you have a t-shirt showing New York if you’ve never been? Idiot, I can wear a shirt that shows the Moon and I haven’t visited that, yet.

    • Two years ago it was something about the football team on my t-shirt. Maybe I should just wear plain t-shirts when entering Trash-Mart.

  9. That really sucks about the Binary CM. I was checking the website every day but I had no idea that it would never make it to the US. Has anyone bought one of those from the sellers in China? It’s only $15.50 and says it is “Anthentic”

    • It’s been my experience that any toys coming from China labeled as authentic are anything but. I purchased two figuarts figures from China and everything down to the packaging was “authentic” but once I took the figures out, it was obvious they were knock offs. If it’s a popular action figure line and it’s from China, I don’t even consider it.

  10. Found a dozen of them on the pegs in Central NJ. Was tempted, but I have enough figures of Cap. If I want to pose him with Mjolnirr, I can always take from one of the two Thor figures I have. Now, if it has come with a broken shield, I might have gone for it.

  11. Hey guys? does anyone know if these are being sold in Canada around the same time as US?

  12. Walmart Exclusive so basically, you won’t be able to find it anywhere and where you can poachers will buy them up and sell them on Ebay & Amazon for like $50-$60 buck. Worse than ToysRUs Exclusives because Walmarts are a mess!
