Exclusive Hot Toys Iron Man Mark II Die-Cast Up for Order!

Having gotten fans’ excitement revved up to a fever pitch with a multitude of new sixth scale figures shown at San Diego Comic-Con last week, it looks like Hot Toys now wants to step up and make their fortune (and empty collectors’ wallets) all in a single day! Following up on the Thor Ragnarok Gladiator Hulk and LE Roadworn Hulk pre-orders earlier today, Hot Toys is now taking aim at Iron Man fans: the Exclusive Hot Toys Iron Man Mark II Die-Cast is now up for order!

Iron Man Mark II Die-Cast Hot Toys MMS Figure

Sometimes I think that Hot Toys forgets that–even with flexible payment plans available–not every collector is keen on locking in $900+ in toy purchases in a single day. But as insane as it sounds, Hot Toys has picked a fairly irresistible trio to put up for sale all on the same day if they simply had to launch three all at once!

The 1/6 Gladiator Hulk is likely to be the second best-selling MCU figure of the year (after Homecoming Spider-Man), whereas hardcore crazies (like me) will immediately jump up to order the limited-edition  Roadworn Thor with Surtur head.

Hot Toys Holographic Iron Man Mark III Bonus Figure Special EditionNow, to be fair, not everyone is going to feel that they can’t live without the translucent blue Sideshow Exclusive Holographic Iron Man Mark III figurine that comes with the Special Edition Mark II. But dangit, I have all the other bonus Iron Man items, and that means I want this one too.

Iron Man Mark II Hot Toys Die-Cast Sixth Scale FigureThe one big advantage that this particular armor has over ever other armor permutation from the MCU movies is that it’s the only pure, shining silver suit that Tony has. This Iron Man is a gorgeous one, which has made it a fan-favorite despite its short screen time in the movies.

Hot Toys Die-Cast Iron Man Mark II Tony Stark Head Sculpt Robert Downey Jr.As usual, the Mark II MMS figure will come with the mile-long list of features that we’ve all seen a million times with Hot Toys Die-Cast Iron Man figures: interchangeable Tony Stark Robert Downey Jr. portrait, optional armor parts, LED light-up functions, flight stand display base, thrust effects pieces, interchangeable hands… you know the drill at this point.

Options of Iron Man Mark II Hot Toys Die-Cast FigureAt $330, this figure is a bit cheaper than the Die-Cast MMS figures typically are, which I believe can be attributed to the lack of paint deco on this piece. It’s beautiful and cheaper than usual, so I’m sure not going to complain.

Hot Toys Die-Cast Mark II Iron Man Figure Flying Effects PiecesThe 1/6 Die-Cast Iron Man Mark II Hot Toys Exclusive Edition is now up for order, and is scheduled to be released in Q4 2018. I hate waiting that long for an action figure, but at least that means I’ll have time to make the payments for this armor long after Thor and Hulk arrive!

Okay, Marvel collectors: Who’s on board for the Mark II Die-Cast Iron Man? Are you collecting all the Die-Cast armors, or making an exception for this one?  What other armors–if any–do you still want to see Hot Toys release?

  1. When were diecasts first implemented? I thought maybe the hall of armor was a lost cause since I started collecting after Iron Man 3, but considering all these upgraded re-issues I’m now considering it a possibility!!
