When Hot Toys acquired the licenses for Amazing Spider-Man 2, Guardians of the Galaxy and this summer’s Avengers: Age of Ultron movie, they made a major announcement for each and pretty much shouted it from the rooftops. But Hot Toys has been much quieter about this summer’s other Marvel movie–until this week! The first teaser for the Hot Toys Ant-Man figure has now been revealed!

Hot Toys hasn’t outright skipped making at least one figure for a Marvel movie entirely since X-Men: First Class came out in 2011 (and they’ve never entirely skipped a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie), but I was still slightly skeptical regarding whether or not the Hong Kong-based toy-maker would take a risk on a movie starring, well… Ant-Man.

But my doubts are no more, as their newly-posted photo confirms that Hot Toys is clearly gearing up to release at one figure from the Ant-Man movie!

On Thursday, Hot Toys finally broke their silence regarding the Ant-Man movie by posting a “Backstage” photo giving us a sneak peek at the sixth scale Ant-Man helmet and belt, as well as a mini Ant-Man figure. All three of these are obvious pack-ins for the 12″ Ant-Man Hot Toys figure. These are just prototypes of the eventual actual items, so it’s tough to be critical of them, but everything is looking very nice thus far.

I’ll be very interested to see if this Ant-Man Hot Toys sixth scale figure includes two heads or just one. While it’s certainly not impossible that we won’t get an unmasked Ant-Man Scott Lang head sculpt with this figure (two of the four Spider-Man figures haven’t come with unmasked heads), I would definitely lean toward a Paul Rudd head being included with the figure (based entirely on intuition and analysis of past releases).

Most major companies seem to be passing on releasing a complementary Yellowjacket figure, but it remains to be seen if Hot Toys will be one of them. While Hasbro is skipping over Yellowjacket completely, Yellowjacket is still getting his due in the form of a Diamond Select Minimates figure, a LEGO Yellowjacket minifigure and a Funko Yellowjacket POP Vinyls figure.

Although Yellowjacket isn’t exactly a big-name villain, Hot Toys has never released just one figure for a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie before, so I don’t know that they’ll start now (even if the Ant-Man movie doesn’t have a ton of positive buzz and hype surrounding it).

At this time, we literally know zero details about the upcoming Ant-Man Hot Toys figure (or figures) besides what Hot Toys has shown us in this teaser photo.
