Guardians of the Galaxy has proven itself as a box office success, and Hot Toys is keeping on chugging along with their Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy sixth scale figures line! Following up on last week’s three-day sell-out of the Sideshow Exclusive Edition Star-Lord, Hot Toys now turns to the fourth (and only female) member of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Gamora! If you’ve been feeling the need for a 12″ Zoe Saldana, this is your lucky day: the MMS 259 Gamora Hot Toys figure is now up for order!

Guardians of the Galaxy is a firm tie with Iron Man 3 as my second-favorite superhero movie ever (yeah, I said it–Iron Man 3), so Hot Toys has got my full commitment to building the entire Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Masterpiece Series lineup.

Just like the previous Hot Toys Marvel Studios female figures (which is just three versions of Hot Toys Black Widow), Gamora will feature real rooted fabric doll hair instead of sculpted hair. I was pretty anti-rooted hair at first, but Hot Toys has won me over with the quality and aesthetic of the last two Black Widow Hot Toys figures’ hair.

Gamora’s hair looks superb with the purple/red hues mixed into it, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the final production version of her hair in person.

While Gamora may look like a simple design from a distance, up-close you can really see how detailed and complicated her attire is. Gamora’s costume with the blue/black gradient pants and the textured boots is actually incredibly complex, and it’s a testament to Hot Toys that they’ve been able to replicate her look from the Guardians of the Galaxy movie so closely.

Gamora may have actually been the most complicated member of the whole Hot Toys Guardians of the Galaxy lineup to develop, as far as the clothing goes.

In addition, this Gamora figure’s likeness to actress Zoe Saldana is absolutely uncanny. I would have thought I was looking at a screenshot from Guardians of the Galaxy and not a sixth scale action figure if I didn’t know better. Hot Toys is really hitting these likenesses out of the park lately!

In case you didn’t notice it in the photos, Gamora has a real working holster on her hip. If you don’t want to pose her with her sword, she’ll look terrific with the compressed version of her sword safely nestled there. And speaking of Gamora’s swords…

Gamora isn’t loaded down with accessories, but everything that it would make sense for her to have is included. She’s got the standard Hot Toys GOTG spaceship floor display base figure stand, three pairs of interchangeable hands, her sword, and a folded-up version of her sword.

Other than including her prison outfit or red team outfit (and let’s be honest–those are going to be separate figures down the line), I don’t know what else Hot Toys really would have given Gamora.

The Hot Toys Gamora figure is now up for order, and is expected to ship out in Q1/Q2 2015. I’ve got a mountain of Hot Toys figures on order already for next year, but any member of the Guardians of the Galaxy is a must-have and an instant pre-order for me.
