It seems like just yesterday that I was discussing the Funko Marvel Collector Corps Villains box selling out, but once again another box is gone, as the Guardians of the Galaxy Collector Corps box is now sold out forever and shipping before the holidays later this month! But don’t fret too much, because the MCC will continue into 2016 with all-new boxes. And to kick off the year, just in time for Valentine’s Day, everything is coming up Deadpool: the Deadpool Marvel Collector Corps February 2016 box is now up for order!

Though I am dying (not literally) to know what’s in the Guardians of the Galaxy MCC box, we’re going to have to wait another week or two to find out what goodies Funko has in store for us from that end of the Marvel Universe. But in the meantime, we’ve got something all-new (and quasi-expected) to speculate about: the first 2016 Collector Corps box!

With the FOX Deadpool movie hitting theaters in February 2016, many fans hypothesized that Funko would be releasing a Deadpool Mystery Box that month to coincide with the film’s release. I wasn’t fully convinced that Disney/Marvel would agree to anything promoting a movie from a rival company, but it looks like they must have, because the Deadpool Collector Corps box is now on the way this winter!

Now, as for what’s in this box, well… that is a very good question! We’ve already gotten Deadpool’s Chimichanga Truck POP Rides set is yellow, red and X-Force grey, so I would like to think that we are well and truly done with seeing repaints of that truck (as funny as it was the first two times around). But if that’s the case, what is there to put into the box…?

There have already been a double-digit number of Funko Deadpool POP Vinyls released, with variants ranging from X-Force to Unmasked to to Unmasked X-Force to X-Men Blue Deadpool to Inverse Deadpool and even Glow-in-the-Dark Deadpool! You would think that at this point, every conceivable POP Deadpool has been covered!

So perhaps a Hikari Deadpool…? Well… doubtful. We’ve already gotten six Deadpool Hikari Sofubi figures, with only the Orange Deadpool shown during the summer still M.I.A.

I wouldn’t mind getting that Orange Deadpool Hikari in the MCC box, but the Hikaris retail for $79.99 each, so I sort of doubt we’re going to see one mixed into a $25 mystery box. It would be a tremendous marketing move to push Hikari, but I simply do not see it happening.

Well, what about a new Dorbz Deadpool? We’ve already had a Deadpool Dorbz and a SDCC Exclusive Dorbz X-Force Deadpool, so what about another Vinyl Sugar Dorbz Deadpool variant in the MCC box…?

I could definitely see this happening, but only as a side item and not the main item in the box. There’s been a lot of backlash every time a Dorbz figure appears in one of these Funko Collector Corps boxes, so I suspect people would rebel if there was ever a Dorbz in a box without a POP Vinyl.

I would love love love to see some of the obscure members of the Deadpool Corps such as Dogpool and Pandapool appear as POP Vinyls in this box, but those characters may be too bizarre and obscure to satisfy casual collectors ordering this MCC Deadpool Funko box. As fun as comic readers would find choices such as these, I foresee complaints from non-readers if these characters found a home in the MCC box.

So what does that leave…? Other than repaints of the upcoming Funko POP Vinyls Deadpool variants with the new poses (such as the awesome thumbs-up pose), I’m not really sure. But I bet you have some killer ideas, Funko collectors! Just what do you think is going to be in this box?!

The Funko Marvel Collector Corps February 2016 Deadpool box is now available for order, and is scheduled to be shipped out in mid-February 2016. The official cut-off date for this box is February 15th, and as all of the recent recent MCC boxes have sold out well before actually shipping–and with Deadpool’s massive popularity–I doubt that this Deadpool box is going to break that trend.
