2025 has been rather light thus far as far as new Marvel Legends pre-orders go, but Hasbro is spicing things up today by launching pre-orders for a mix largely composed of most-requested fan favorite characters from across the 616 comics spectrum! Headlined by the first official Marvel Legends ROM and a long-awaited updated green costume Banshee, the Marvel Legends Mini Comics series of figures is now up for order! (But to be clear, you can NOT read these mini comic pack-ins…)

But let’s be clear here: these are not paper comic books or even readable books of any kind at all—they’re just little rectangular chunks of plastic with a famous comic cover (nicely) printed on the front. While it’s very meta for ROM to hold a properly scaled faux comic of himself, I’m not convinced this theme will spark sales at all. But what just might are the actual figures comprising the set…
ROM is the marquee name on this series, make no doubt about it. While there was a SDCC Exclusive ROM figure back in 2017, that wasn’t an official Marvel Legends branded toy of everyone’s favorite 80s SpaceKnight (yes, I know he debuted in December 1979, but whatever).
ROM looks amazing, and is sure to be a bonafide smash hit with collectors like last year’s great Crystar was. The silver plastic captures his plandaniun metal body well.
But for those not familiar with ROM, the headliner of this set is probably the updated version of Marvel Legends Banshee in green costume fans have been wanting since the mediocre one in the inaugural Hasbro Marvel Legends series (circa 2006). We got Banshee in blue costume two years ago in a 3-pack, so it was only a matter of time until he was sporting his more popular green one again.
The head sculpt here is an obvious huge upgrade over the 2006 version, and I am thrilled Hasbro is actually giving us an extra head with Sonic Scream open mouth this time, not repeating the tragic mistake of Siryn from the Bonebreaker wave.
Also from the X-Men fold, we get a refreshed Daken figure in his Dark Wolverine (Dark Avengers) costume.
The 2012 Daken from the Arnim Zola series is still one of my favorite figures from that era, but it’s good to bring Dark Wolverine up to modern standards to display alongside the other recent Dark Avengers. I have to believe we’ll be seeing Dark Hawkeye ;Bullseye) sooner than later.
Adam Warlock is a character that I think is long, LONG overdue for an upgrade in his 90s Infinity Gsuntlet look, as the only previous release of this iteration of him was in the 2007 Target Exclusive Red Hulk series.
The 2025 Marvel Legends Adam Warlock comes with his signature staff, the iconic Infinity Gauntlet and a scaled “comic” featuring one of the most recognizable covers in history.
I’m thrilled to get a modern-articulated, pin-less Adam Warlock 90s figure here. For me, this is the star of the series even over the X-Men characters.
Miles Morales Spider-Man has had quite a few action figures over the past few years, but few of those have been him in his original Ultimate Spider-Mab comic book styled attire. I think the market may be a bit satiated on Miles right now, so this figure may not make the splash it once would have, but I still think it will sell out just fine.
This new Ultimate Miles Morales looks to be rocking a new torso with what I think are the arms and legs of the awesome Spider-Boy figure (who I coincidentally just reviewed yesterday). I’m not sure the legs look quite right here, but I think this is a decent Miles overall.
If there’s to be a true pegwarmer in this wave, I expect it to be the Ultimate Iron Man figure. I genuinely do not believe there’s a huge fandom or demand for action figures beyond Miles from the original Ultimate Universe (Earth-6160) at this time. (Frankly, I’d be more excited for anything from the modern Jonathan Hickman Ultimate Universe, but that may just be me.)
The Ultimate Iron Man figure actually looks quite nice and lets Hasbro check off another of the “Big 3” Ultimates, but I’m curious to see how well sales on this Tony Stark fare and if there’s any fan excitement for it.
The Marvel Legends Comics Series is now up for order and is expected to ship out this spring. Which of these figures (if any) will you be picking up, Marvel collectors? Would you like to see another wave of characters with mini pack-in comics included, or is this not the theme for you?
I’ve been waiting decades for this figure of ROM. The ONLY characters that would excite me more, would be the Micronauts. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I got the original ROM Spaceknight toy in 1979, and all of the original comics as they came out. To finally see an actual comic accurate ROM figure now is fantastic. I’ve cut down on my figure collecting over the years, mostly because after a few thousand figures I just don’t have storage space for too many more of them, but I already ordered two of these guys. One to keep boxed and one for the shelf.
And like Karza said in the prior post, the original, comic accurate Micronauts would be what I’d be looking forward to next!
